Basic Job Function:

Provide beauty services, such as shampooing, cutting, coloring and styling hair, and massaging and treating scalp. Waxing, and Make up. Consult with guests on their hair needs, recommend professional hair and makeup services and products. Also deliver quality technical service with emphasis on the guest's total look.

Use of Company Vehicle: Not designated to drive a company vehicle

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must possess and maintain a current Georgia state cosmetology license
  • Six months experience preferred
  • Must perform hair and makeup services with skill
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficiency with use of equipment needed to perform technical work
  • Good time management skills, and judgment
  • Well developed interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with Salon Manager, salon staff, spa management team and guests
  • Ability to read, digest and analyze various reports
  • Mathematical skills to accurately compute and complete required functions

Tasks/Responsibilities:

  • Acknowledges and greets all guests and offer friendly, prompt and courteous service
  • Utilizes product prescriptions sheets to prescribe professional salon products to all salon guests or members
  • Begins each session with a genuine gesture of concern for the guest or members
  • Continues with a consultation to learn quickly what the guest or member is requiring of them
  • Offers honest , clear suggestions and waits for approval or other questions from guest or member before beginning the service
  • Offers guest and members beverages or anything that may anticipate their needs of the moment
  • Stays current with new hair styling, waxing and make-up trends and methods
  • Assists with creating events with Lead stylist and Spa Manager or Director to stimulate interest of salon and spa services
  • Adheres to budgetary requirements
  • Assists at desk when needed
  • Performs other duties as required occasionally by management
  • Meets or exceed all individual sales and productivity goals
  • Assists in store duties (e.g., filling and salon retail displays and shelves.)
  • Adhere to salon standards for guest service and cleanliness
  • Complete required administrative tasks
  • Promote and sell services and products, including recommending and selling additional services and/or retail products which will enhance and improve the customer's image and/or contribute to the customer's satisfaction with services performed
  • Understand the needs of guests; handle and resolve customer service issues to maintain customer loyalty
  • Display a sound understanding and perform all available services in a competent, efficient and professional manner
  • Safeguard company assets by adhering to company policies and procedures
  • Timely submission of all company required paperwork
  • Attend and participate in continuing education and training in order to follow new trends and technology
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of current guest services, activities, dining options, shops, local attractions, and historical information regarding Sea Island and the surrounding area to answer any questions guests may have to the best of one’s ability
  • If applicable, complete a Guest Problem Resolutions (GPR) form on any issues (solved or unsolved issues) and follow-up on issues as needed (if computer access is not available give information to admin support)
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization in all work areas
  • Uphold appropriate departmental standards of quality/timing
  • Uphold and ensure compliance with all company and departmental policies and procedures
  • Report all equipment problems and maintenance issues, known safety hazards, or unsafe practices and procedures to supervisor immediately
  • Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement
  • Willing and timely execution of other duties as delegated by leadership

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to kneel, crouch, squat, climb, stand, sit, balance, reach, bend, push, pull and walk for prolonged periods
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks with accuracy
  • Ability to lift, carry, pull and push up to 25 lbs intermittently or repeatedly throughout a shift
  • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal
  • May be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical and fume hazards
  • No visible tattoos, visible body piercing or unnatural hair color or hairstyles per company grooming standards
