The Real Estate Accounting Specialist II under general supervision, processes Property Tax expenses; also provides support in at least one other area of Real Estate administration such as Common Area Maintenance (CAM), insurance or straight-line rent.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Maintains current vendor & landlord contact info in Real Estate Management System (REMS) and financial system; obtains proper documentation for vendor changes.

* Resolves Real Estate expense matters; escalates complex matters to management.

* Processes property tax bills/statements for assigned locations in accordance with taxing authority schedules.

* Monitors accounts receivable for property tax allocations and reimbursements.

* Monitors monthly accruals and allocations; identifies and escalates discrepancies.

* Researches and validates parcel details including replat/subdivision and parcel size.

* Calculates and reconciles tax adjustments in accordance with property tax schedule. Audits payments in accordance with tax agreement.

* Internally manages tax valuation reviews/appeals with third-party tax firm. Processes tax savings invoices and refunds.

* Trains and provides guidance to Real Estate Specialist I.

* Stays current on the latest industry technologies, trends, and strategies.

* Assists employees, vendors or other customers by answering questions related to Real Estate management processes, procedures and services.

* Completes work in a timely and accurate manner while providing exceptional customer service.

* Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements


* This position requires a minimum of three years accounts payable, accounts receivable or accounting experience.

* Lease accounting or commercial property management experience required.

* Knowledge of Real Estate property tax administration is required.

* Proficiency in Real Estate Management software is required.

* SAP experience preferred.

* Must demonstrate strong attention to detail.

* Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze and disseminate information with accuracy is necessary.

* Proficiency with Adobe and Microsoft Office, including skills with Word and Excel, is necessary.
