Industrial Engineer / Lean / Operations Support

The industrial engineer under central engineering will work with sites and automation team to develop roadmap leading to complete lights-out factory. During various phases of implementation, I.E. will provide support with: Time & Motion study and create work standards, establish line TaKT time based on field/customer demand, use Simulation tools to predict output and delivery patterns, create work-flow, operating standards for line operators, incorporate end-to-end process from Architecture, Design to Fabrication/Assembly and Final construction in overall capacity plan and breakdown barriers due to bottleneck with creative solutions and practical ideas.

Be well versed in factory design using 3D-CAD tools and optimize it based on input and output. Consider overhead processes and storage capabilities, optimized configuration of machines to allow autonomation giving workers safe environment, focus on quality process to eliminate the need for rework and design in-line inspection and testing as needed.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

* Supports manufacturing processes that produce components for the construction industry; roof trusses, floor trusses and enclosed floor / ceiling components, enclosed interior and exterior wall components, countertops, cabinets, plumbing, window installation and cross laminated timber.

* Site/Line layout design for optimum output

* Tie all 3D layout with machine, material movement, man-machine interface with minimum WIP and buffers.

* Design one-piece flow or discrete process where needed with well-designed super-market.

* Enhance existing system or develop new to give full visibility or project order or work order from end to end.

* Monitors and improve the safety, output and efficiency of manufacturing processes through the measurement of key process indicators (KPI's) in support of the overall organization

* Prepare reports, technical memorandums, and recommendations

* Be able to travel 25%+

Required Skills & Experience

* 3+ years in a manufacturing process enabling/improvement role.

* Ability to read/interpret construction drawings.

* A working knowledge of lean manufacturing system/techniques.

* Unfailing focus on customer service with a proven ability to deliver quality results on-time.

* Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills including negotiation and conflict resolution.

* Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with senior management, as well as hourly staff.

* Passion for Katerra's mission and real belief in the company's value proposition.

* Bachelor's degree in construction or mechanical engineering or related technical field.

* Experience utilizing SAP software platform.
