The Role:

We are looking for an expert with a strong technical background in systems administration, network administration, and mass storage for this operations role. The ideal candidate will possess a wide variety of technical skills and is wired to succeed in a dynamic startup environment.

This role will be based from our Jaunt Studios office in Santa Monica, CA, but will also help support our headquarters in San Mateo, CA as well as our developing New York City and London offices.

What you will do:

* Assume technical responsibility for a variety of local and AWS EC2-based servers, network devices, mass storage devices, Windows, Linux and MacOS workstations, and MacOS-based end-user laptops

* Assume technical responsibility for a variety of SaaS services including G-Suite, Atlassian (JIRA/Confluence), Zoom, and Slack

* Troubleshoot server, desktop, network, storage, and communications systems issues with the video production department, and hardware and software development teams, to resolve issues

* Help manage in-house network-attached storage systems and local storage arrays ensuring high availability, performance, redundancy, and capacity

* Administer and manage Cisco based WAN and LAN connectivity across multiple sites and multiple AWS VPCs

* Implement and enhance existing systems in compliance with media and entertainment industry information security standards

* Implement and improve monitoring systems

* Proactively identify performance bottlenecks and propose remedies

* Develop and maintain bash and Python scripts to automate configuration management

* Manage data archiving for video projects across multiple office locations

* Add to existing documentation

* Share on-call responsibility

* Occasionally work off hours for planned maintenance and emergencies as needed

Our Ideal Candidate has:

* Experience managing OS X, Linux and Windows servers, workstations, and laptops by coding for configuration management systems such as JAMF, Munki, Chef, Puppet, Salt or Ansible

* Experience designing, implementing and supporting centralized storage or distributed/clustered file systems

* Experience with networking and IP services (TCP/IP, subnetting, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, routing, VPN, etc.)

* Experience working with data volumes into the hundreds of terabytes

Nice to Have:

* Ability to demonstrate expert level knowledge in maintaining and diagnosing Linux system internals, init system and services, file system structure, and environment configuration using CLI tools

* In-depth knowledge of Cisco WAN/LAN networking, with QoS and VoIP experience highly desired

* Experience maintaining and/or migrating between directory services systems such as OpenDirectory or ActiveDirectory

* Solid scripting experience using shell scripting, Python, or similar

* In-depth knowledge of NFS, SMB, automounting, and performance tuning

* Experience provisioning and configuring systems in Amazon Web Services or other cloud environments

* Experience with PCI/SOC/MPAA security evaluation and compliance

* Experience designing and supporting Audio/Visual systems for in house demos and communications as well as external demos
