Job Summary:

Assist other Terminal Maintenance Operators in repairs, installations, maintenance, and operations of all terminal equipment used in the shipping and transfer of cement and fly ash. The Terminal Maintenance Operator must perform all duties in a safety conscious manner and in compliance with all applicable environmental laws and policies. The position reports to the Terminal Manager.

Duties:

•Inspect all machinery and equipment for defects daily

•Use dollies, hoist, and winches

•Operate rail car mover and forklift to move materials throughout the terminal

•Maintain all mobile equipment in proper operating condition, including checks on tire inflation, brakes, waters, and oil pressure

•Perform cleanup work in assigned areas

•Operate moving equipment to spot and unload cement and/or fly ash railcars

•Operate weigh devices as Weigh Master

•Load and weigh bulk cement and fly ash trucks

•Maintain bill-of-lading, certifications, and all other paperwork associated with loading and receiving cement and fly ash

•Perform some welding; perform cutting and heating with Oxygen & Acetylene Equipment

•Perform other assigned work incidental to this classification

Education:

Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent

Bachelor's Degree Preferred

Requirements/Qualifications:

•Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license

•Work occasionally in confined spaces with low clearance requiring bending or kneeling

•Must be able to lift weights of up to 100 pounds

•Climb ladders and stairs to elevations of 10 to 90 feet

•Be able to work at heights exceeding 100 feet

•Proper Personal Protective Equipment as required

•Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate in the English language

•Knowledge of hazards associated with areas of responsibility

•Operate Forklift and Railcar Mover; including welding skills

•Use air, electrical, and hand tools such as chipping guns, jackhammers, wrenches, grinders, and drills of all sizes

•Must be able to walk long distances, climb ladders, stairs, and stockpiles, stoop, and crawl under and into enclosed spaces

•Ability to see and hear safety indicators and warnings

•Must work in all weather conditions: heat, cold, wet, dry and/or dusty conditions

•Will have exposure to all levels of noise that require use of hearing protection
