This is a highly visible position interacting directly with our Tier-1 and OEM automotive partners to create, refine and champion AMD automotive solutions. In this role you will also have the opportunity to design and build specialized software, hardware and quality processes from the ground up.

Advanced Technologies Group is a startup group with a mission to advance the future of safer transportation as we look to bring millions of drivers into assisted and automated driving. We develop artificial intelligence perception software for driver-assistance and automated driving, with a focus on implementing efficient deep neural networks on AMD’s automotive-grade processors.

Deep Neural Networks (DNNs) have become the most accurate and robust approach for object detection, as well as other environmental perception problems, that are necessary for safer driver-assistance and automated driving.

Join us and you’ll be:

Working directly with top OEM customers to set new autonomous vehicle AI/DNN performance criteria on existing and future products

Collaborating closely with our unique deep neural network development team, to create a platform demonstrates our commitment to the automotive industry and regulators to building trusted, safe DNN products.

You will be pioneering entirely new automotive solutions based on AMD’s SoC for deep neural networks for autonomous platforms.

You will have the potential to save tens of thousands of lives on the road in your first years at ATG.

You will be working with an incredible team of talented full stack DNN engineers and leaders passionate about building best-in-class solutions and eager to share their knowledge.

You will be in a highly visible and respected leadership role, building a team to design and implement a DNN solutions on AMD’s Automotive Development Platforms.

Here’s what our expectations are of you:

You are a hands-on technical engineer with demonstrated accomplishments in embedded, AI, or DNN software development.

As an experienced hands-on technical leader in automotive SoC industry, you use your experience with high performance compute in embedded spaces to define, build, and deliver AMD’s future autonomous driving solutions.

You lead or part of an engineering development team with full-lifecycle ADAS experience from product inception through to release of one or more functional safety elements, such as lane departure warning, blind-spot detection, adaptive cruise control, sensor fusion, Vehicle to Vehicle (V2V) networking, LIDAR, radar, or image processing.

You have a graduate degree in an engineering discipline.

You have strong public speaking skills and previous experience working with the global teams as a subject matter expert.

Qualifications:

PhD or MS with 5+ year industry experience with Computer Science or other similar engineering degrees.

Strong programming skills in C/C++, Python or Java. Golang is a plus.

Good understanding of program optimization techniques, such as CUDA, CuDNN, OpenCL.

Experience with one or more popular Deep Learning frameworks such as Tensorflow, PyTorch, Caffe, MXNet, etc.

Experience with large scale model training in the cloud.

Good understanding of common Machine Learning methods

Experience with techniques for object detection, scene semantic segmentation etc.

Experience with OpenCV or linux camera pipeline is a plus.

Familiarity with modern software development tools for source code control, unit testing, automated build, test, and deployment.

Automotive experience at an OEM or Tier 1

Must be self-motivated, with a desire to continuously improve and learn.

Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects with tight timing constraints, providing examples of such scenarios throughout one’s career.

Experience coordinating cross-functional teams in both hardware and software engineering

Experience managing multiple, fast-paced initiatives

Strong interpersonal, communication, and writing skills
