Agilent's Genomics Division is one of the most rapidly evolving businesses within our company. We seek a leader for our marketing team, a highly visible role in Agilent's rapidly growing genomics business. You will be instrumental in driving the adoption of clinical genomics applications that enable precision medicine. You will report to the General Manager, with frequent exposure to Agilent executives. In this role, you'll act as the GM's business partner, leading both inbound and outbound programs and strategy to deliver growth. The successful candidate will negotiate a geographically dispersed and highly collaborative environment, with the ability to dig into details, make decisions quickly and stand up to challenges when necessary.

Responsibilities

Build, develop and lead talent

* Develop and manage a world-class product marketing organization

* Mentor leaders across the organization and recruit, hire and train new employees and managers

Coach and lead teamwork with cross-functional partners in engineering, quality, support and regulatory to align on product priorities and goals

* Evangelize the strategy and products through public speaking and collaboration -- be the champion for the team's shared successes

Identify opportunities to drive growth

* Deep knowledge of the markets we serve and intend to serve, including genomics, clinical genomics, next generating sequencing, and microarrays

* Deliver in-depth competitive and internal analyses

* Identify opportunities with partner divisions, develop business case, get things started

* Lead the development and execution of the product marketing strategy, resulting in the preparation of the annual division review and operating plan

* Propose and drive business acceleration initiatives such as white space analysis for various segments, segment level growth opportunities

Provide a view of the marketplace

* Refine products and positioning in the market

* Gather ongoing data on established and emerging competitors

* Understand evolving market trends

* Engage internal partners to assess potential acquisitions and partnerships

Provide a view of the customer

* Understand and communicate evolving trends in next generation sequencing and orthogonal technologies, across geographies and industries, as well as evolving trends in data management. Partner closely with the field selling organization to (1) understand and address new and existing customer trends and challenges, and (2) drive deeper sales enablement

* Exercise human-centered design principles to gather customer voice and inform a data-centric view of customer need

* Serve as the customer empath in chief

* Bridge data and insights from order and CRM systems, direct voice of customer, interactions with field sales and support teams, and industry and outside research to drive the business forward. Use a data-centric approach to develop key success metrics for the business.

* 10+ years of relevant experience and demonstrated accomplishment in B2B product development and product marketing; preferably in lab, research, or clinical genomics. Familiarity with one or more of Agilent's target markets a strong plus.

* Exposure to P&L responsibility, and the related financial acumen needed to drive business decisions and outcomes.

* Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering or Informatics with an understanding of genomics; advanced degree, target industry background, advanced business education a plus.

* Demonstrated exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels in the organization across functions (finance, marketing, legal, business development, R&D, support, sales, executive leadership) and locations.

* Strong business analysis skills with a proven ability to deliver results and motivate teams.

* Strong leadership skills, and ability to influence at all levels within the organization.

* Practitioner of a user-centered design methodology.

* Ability to support the Agile development process via the management of an Agile marketing practice.

* Ability to travel, up to 25% time, both domestic and internationally.
