Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer

Keysight has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer within in our Production Engineering Department. As a Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer in the Interferometer production line, you will provide production engineering support during the entire product lifecycle, from New Product Introduction to Obsolescence. Our Interferometer production line is a high mix, low volume production operation.

Chosen candidate will:

* Provide mechanical engineering support to transition opto-mechanical products from the R&D Lab into Manufacturing

* Develop and maintain assembly processes, solve technical design and process issues, design tools and fixtures for assembly and test, maintain and/or improve products by solving producibility, reliability and/or quality problems

* Identify, plan and implement cost reduction projects

* Provide new and procedure change training for Technicians and Assemblers.

* Review, determine, and resolve vendor quality problems and material rejections.

In addition to the above manufacturing engineering responsibilities, this position requires:

* knowledge and experience in the operation and maintenance of high vacuum equipment

* Knowledge of cleanroom cleanliness protocol, particle contamination control, and monitoring is required

* Familiarity with cleaning processes, including vacuum bake and vacuum conditioning of parts

* Willing to undertake a hands-on analytical role

Job Qualifications

To be successful in this job, you will need:

* BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years Mechanical engineering experience in a manufacturing environment

* Experience in the theory, operation, calibration, and maintenance of high vacuum equipment

* Experience with tasks such as ECRs, ECOs, Product Variations, Process Deviations, estimation of manufacturing costs, determination of time standards, and tooling design and process definition for new and existing product lines

* Proficiency in CAD, and GD&T

* Proactive problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

To be an outstanding candidate and excel in the job you also have:

* Mass Spec and/or RGA understanding and experience

* Fundamental understanding of opto-mechanical engineering, precision engineering and interferometer optics

* Alignment and fixing of optical components to the micron and micro radian level.

* Working knowledge of optical metrology tools such as Fizeau Interferometers, Autocollimators, Ellipsometers, etc.

* Experience with optical bonding with and without adhesives.
