EDI/interface Analyst

Activity / Project Role: EDI/Interface Analyst

RESPONSIBILITIES

* Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for production EDI Transactions and code set maintenance.

* Provider SME support to EDI team for production EDI Transactions related questions/issues for both internal and external customers, including external trading partners, such as CalHEERS and clearinghouses. Analyze EDI Transactions production issues to appropriately identify and route identified issues/defects.

* Supports EDI team to assist in stabling tools to monitor schedule, and document daily production data transmission to insure successful import/export and report identified issues.

* Uses vendor specific protocol (i.e., Q-Connect), Implementation Guides, Process Logs, MS SQL Server Databases and File Movement Scripts to troubleshoot production EDI Transactions.

* Identifies defects and provides follow-up investigation and detail through resolution with inclusion of status/deadline communication and applicable resolution documentation.

* Works and coordinates with vendor applicable Application Management Services (AMS) and corresponding EDI teams. Perform data collection, testing, validation, and production support for the EDI Transactions defect resolution process.

* Coordinates defect deployment schedules and production defect prioritization.

* Maintain understanding of managed care industry guidelines/mandates and insure technical/system and process compliance.

* Participate in project and team status meetings relative to duties.

* Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE OF:

* SQL Scripting (create/read/maintain);

* HIPAA ASC X12 transaction sets for healthcare (834, 837, 277, 835, 997/9, 270/1, 276/7/8)

* EDI application mapping techniques;

* Data specification review

* HIPAA and organization/department level security policies and procedures;

* Business system applications used in customer departments;

* Complex information systems applications;

* Application development lifecycle and flowcharting techniques;

* Systems troubleshooting techniques and program design;

* Structured analysis and database concepts;

* Principles and methods of systems and procedures;

* Principles and practices of technical problem solving;

* Methods for protecting security and confidentiality of system data;

* Principles and practices of producing project and technical documentation;

* Project management at a basic level, including organizing and managing a project schedule.
