Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for an experienced, results-oriented, organized, and self-starting Compliance Engineering manager to grow and manage a team of experts in the EMC, RF, and Energy Efficiency domain within AWS’ Global Trade and Product Compliance (GTPC) function. As a Compliance Engineering manager within the GTPC Product Compliance team, you will be responsible for providing the EMC, RF, and Energy Efficiency product compliance deliverables for all the varying AWS hardware. You will collaborate with AWS business teams, product compliance engineering, agency partners, and legal to drive global delivery of certifications for critical hardware. You will also regularly communicate with senior leadership on status, risk, and strategy. This position can also be located in Portland, Oregon or Santa Clara, California.

Key job responsibilities

In the EMC, RF, and Energy Efficiency regulatory compliance domain:

  • Hire, develop, and manage team of industry experts
  • Proactively engage with product development teams to assess risk and implement mitigation measures
  • Deliver certifications for global deployment
  • Create and document processes
  • Develop metrics to manage business and provide insights on which improvement opportunities should be prioritized

Basic Qualifications

5+ years of managing EMC, RF, and/or Energy Efficiency engineering teams with a history of progressive achievements.

Demonstrated skills in developing people, launching new products, conducting regulatory research, and driving agency partners.

Successful record of implementing new systems and processes with measurable results, ability to build tools and frameworks that facilitate deployment and change in a complex organization.

Bachelors degree in EE, ME, or equivalent

Preffered Qualifications

Exposure to global trade and product compliance or supply chain experience

Experience using data driven process improvement tools and metrics

Demonstrated ability to successfully influence stakeholders without formal authority, leading cross-functional teams across geographies and business units

Experience representing complex requirements to non-technical stakeholders

Strong verbal communication and presentation skills; sufficient poise to successfully interact with all levels of an organization, cross-functional partners, and customers.

Experience working with geographically distributed teams within a complex international organization
