Working in a team as a member of an Aesthetics and Landscape Design group for a large iconic highway project for San Bernardino County in Southern California. This is a Design Build project that requires ongoing inter- and intra- group communication within Michael Baker, with our joint venture partners, as well as our end clients and subconsultants. This role at times will require site visits and be client facing in addition to extensive office based team production work.

•Coordinate with other relevant disciplines such as Civil Engineers (Roadway, Traffic, Drainage, Utilities), Mechanical, Structural, Lighting and Electrical Engineers, Architects and design consultants
•Conduct landscape architectural studies, develop, design and present high-quality landscape concept drawings and design concepts
•Prepare related reports and cost estimates
•Compile and analyze data of site conditions regarding land use, site context, soil, vegetation, drainage, and location of structures for design preparation
•Prepare technical design document packages complete through to acceptance for construction, on time and within budget, while meeting client expectations for quality and maintainability
•Coordinate work with engineering and construction units at project site
•Perform ongoing quality assurance throughout the development of the drawings

•Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture is required (Licensed Landscape Architect strongly preferred)
•5 or more years of experience with large landscape design projects with a civil component is required
•Department of Transportation projects experience is strongly preferred
•Proficiency in CAD (MicroStation and AutoCAD) and other software packages typically associated with landscape architectural design is required
•Ability to work with other technical interdisciplinary teams and clearly communicate ideas and corrections is required
•Ability to take directions well and implement changes as necessary is required
