Position Description:

SCHEELS is currently seeking a Full Time Work Wear & Hunting Clothing Specialty Shop Manager for our Sandy, UT location. While committing to a professional team environment; the Manager of the Specialty Shop will provide superior customer service, along with managing shop needs through display, inventory and sales goals. This position will represent SCHEELS as a friendly, courteous and knowledgeable professional to all customers and fellow team associates. Candidates must be outgoing with a great personality and enjoy working with people. A high energy level, good communication and organizational skills and willingness to provide uncompromising customer service is critical. Our Managers of individual Specialty Shops are experts in their field, and are required to study and learn all aspects of the shop they manage. This includes selecting the merchandise for their shop, sales and buying, and assisting customers in a variety of areas.

Responsibilities Include:

* Provide world class customer service by smiling, greeting and assisting all customers; be friendly and courteous when greeting customers on the sales floor

* Be knowledgeable to answer questions concerning location, price and use of merchandise within the surrounding areas

* Be willing to learn and teach associates and customers with the use of different products in the specialty shop

* Set up advertising displays and arrange merchandise on walls and tables to promote sales

* With knowledge and sales judgment, develop sales, margin and profit in the assigned specialty shops

* Attend and teach weekly evening training meetings

* Maintain orderly appearance of work area and surrounding areas

* Contribute to a work environment that fosters pride in being part of a winning team and promotes personal growth

* Other duties that may be assigned by leadership


* Ability to be organized, multi-task, and maintain all aspects of support

* With or without accommodations, be able to sit, and/or stand, for extended periods of time

* Embrace project visions and respond with urgency to address project needs

* Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other associates

* Exercise judgment and tact and be able to effectively work with all levels within the organization

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills

* Ability to complete basic mathematical equations

* Able to lift or move up to 30 lbs.

Education and Experience:

Ideal candidate will have a minimum of a High School diploma, or General Education Degree (GED); one to three years of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Must be flexible to work assigned schedule between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m., Monday through Saturday and between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Sundays. Schedule may include varied hours, days, evenings, weekends and holidays. Average hours per week is 41 hours.
