Adept seeks a regional sales manager responsible for selecting and then managing, guiding and mentoring multiple manufacturer's representatives as well as prospecting new business and performing direct sales to strategic accounts in the region. The position will report to the Director, North America Sales, Mobile. Daily interface will include Customers, Sales Management, Marketing, Sales Operations, Customer Service and Application Engineering. Duties & Responsibilities Customers will include direct end-users, system integrators, OEMs and machine builders with key emphasis prospecting and developing new business at new and existing key accounts, and growing and expanding business with existing accounts with the primary metric of success being meeting and exceeding your regional revenue sales plan. In addition: * Perform discovery, qualify and visit prospective customers throughout the territory and promote Adept and its products through one-on-one and group presentations. * Provide Adept management weekly product booking and revenue forecasts and monthly territory updates including market and customer trends and competitive product feedback. * Assist in the development, qualification and follow up on leads generated from regional and national trade shows, direct mail, advertising, and other marketing programs. * Support existing Adept customers through multi-level organizational selling including Quarterly Business Reviews and technology and product roll out presentations. * Own territory activity including the planning and executing of lunch and learn events and private seminars to integrators and end users. * Organize and coordinate with applications engineering demonstrations of Adept equipment though road shows, regional trade shows, and integrator/end user site visits. * Jointly develop annual revenue territory plan with Adept sales management. * Individually develop and manage day-to-day schedule, tasks, and goals to execute the plan. * Travel requirements may be 50% nights away from home, plus attend regional and national sales meetings. Meetings may require a weekend stay and airline travel. Products: Sell Adept's full range of mobile robot products and services to end users, machine builders, OEM's, and integrators in the territory. Qualifications The ideal candidate shall be self-motivated and driven to achieve objectives, have outstanding communications and interpersonal skills and be highly competitive with an intense desire to win. He/she should require very little day to day supervision and be a strategic thinker and tactical seller. He/she should have a successful and proven track record of selling into various levels of an organization from project engineers to manufacturing management to Operations Managers to Executive level. Most importantly, proven success must be demonstrated by achievement of meeting and exceeding booking and revenue goals for the territory. Educational Background * BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Computer Science) required; MS or MBA preferred or equivalent * Candidate should have a proven track record with 5+ years' experience in capital equipment sales such as automated material handlingequipment or packaging equipment or possess an applications engineering background. Additional value -- candidate possess experience working at an automated systems integrator, an AGV company or robotics company. * Ideal candidate should have a current network in target markets and quickly implement direction for increased sales efficiency that will drive increased revenue and profitability. * Experience and proficiency using a SalesForce.com CRM and other standard PC-based applications such as MS Office Suite.
