We're looking for a leader in San Francisco, CA to manage our overall Vendor Management team. The team is involved in overall vendor contract negotiation, contract renewals, vendor relationship management and supporting all internal and external stakeholders of DES. The Manager of Vendor Management will be responsible for providing vision and leadership to ensure the efficient operation of the Vendor Management team. They will be responsible for contract management for SaaS, software, hardware and network and analytics & reporting.

This position reports to the Director of Vendor and Asset Management

Responsibilities

* Direct a global team of 2 employees and 5 contractors

* Provides thought leadership in vendor strategy, operations, innovation and efficiency improvements

* Identify opportunities for demand optimization, consolidation, and savings

* Manage and optimize vendor operations for our global IT operations and other external business unit stakeholders

* Prepare and maintain accurate budgets and other financials to support vendor operations, responsibilities, goals and objectives

* Conduct monthly and quarterly business reviews with strategic vendors, measure performance, and establish plans for continuous improvement

* Prepare complex analytics, metrics, dashboards to demonstrate business problems, solutions, benefits for vendor management team

* Responsible and accountable for developing a strategic business plan for the vendor management department that will meet current and future business goals

* Successful translation of organizational focus and strategic objectives to vendors

* Develop, achieve and maintain the reporting on portfolio level Key Performance Indicators

* Lead the evaluation of new business processes or process improvement opportunities

* Ensure that all of the terms and conditions of an agreement are thoroughly reviewed and documented, and risk to Autodesk is mitigated

* Implementation of risk management plans, quality agreements, and robust relationship management plans

* Oversee the maintenance and inventory of business contract data including the support, warranty, lease, maintenance and software contract and license information

* Ensure that IT Service Managers renew and re-negotiate their contracts timely and with cost optimization, cost avoidance, savings or equal contract value

* Ensure creation of accurate purchase requisitions through approval process and timely vendor payment

* Lead the forming of procurement strategies to optimize technology spend across the organization

Minimum Qualifications

* Holds an MBA or Master's degree from a top-tier program, or equivalent experience

* 5 years IT experience or applicable IT vendor management role

* 5 years of experience in leadership roles (Manager roles)

* Strong understanding of trends in the IT industry and the marketplaces for services, software, hardware, and telecommunications

* Demonstrated strong analytical skills and ability to manage complex budgets and other financials using Microsoft Excel

* Experience sustaining and optimizing vendor management systems

* Exposure to General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

* Able to manage a team of highly skilled vendor managers and analysts

* Experience in effective and successful vendor negotiations to optimize, reduce costs and keep IT budget on track

* Strong ability to lead, manage teams and motivate subordinates

* Influence while maintaining positive business relationships

* Boundary-less leadership, including the ability to influence without direct-line authority and drive cross-organizational teams

* Comfortable presenting to executive staff or leadership staff and advocating for the right outcome

* Experience with all aspects of vendor oversight or alliance management; from contract development, selection, to performance management

* Experience with developing and managing vendor governance models at a functional or cross organizational level

* Demonstrated understanding of organizational or functional goals through achievement of business objectives with strategic or emerging vendors

* Demonstrates ability to plan and organize agreement review discussions

* Collaborates with vendors, purchasing, security, internal controls and legal counsel to resolve agreement issues

* Translates the vision and requests of functional leadership with accuracy to vendors

* Drives for consistency, process harmonization, and innovation across vendors

* Examines complex functional issues, problem solves and drives for global best practices

* Provides input in the selection process of strategic or emerging vendors

* Experience with inventory of contract data process and procedures

* Experience with complete vendor management lifecycle
