Responsibilities

This position is located in the Seventh Coast Guard District, Sector San Juan, Puerto Rico, Engineering Department. The position's primary purpose is to provide repetitive or limited electrical worker operations. The position's secondary purpose is to perform electrical equipment repair and air conditioning mechanic work.

Being a CG civilian makes you a valuable member of the team. Typical work assignments include:

* Making repairs that can be accomplished by removing, replacing, lightening, splicing, and insulating defective wiring, controls, equipment and fixtures such as broken and bare wiring, burned out switches and relays, loose connections and fittings, damaged light fixtures and poorly operating thermostats.

* Installing and repairing electrical systems incident to the maintenance of family housing units, quarters, offices, and shops.

* Applying established work methods and procedures to perform limited diagnostic checks and to disassemble, repair, reassemble, and test electrical equipment and components that have been removed from ground support or industrial equipment, tracked or wheeled heavy duty vehicles, and ships.

* Making repairs on a variety of domestic and commercial refrigeration and air conditioning units and system such as walk-in and reach-in coolers, refrigerators, ice cream cabinets, deep freezers, evaporative coolers, attic and evaporative fans, and other equipment of comparable complexity.

Qualifications
