Senior Data Scientist - Innovation (CBS) (Assistant Director) (Multiple Positions), Ernst & Young U.S. LLP, San Jose, CA.
Design, and develop methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze data to generate actionable insights and solutions with predictive analysis for projects/business. Work with client teams to identify questions and issues for data analysis. Communicate insights and findings from analysis to assist in guiding future production of products or services. Develop an understanding of essential business and translate that understanding into designs that addresses the requirements, with maximum generality. Use data science methods including data assembly, cleansing, validation, data visualization, statistical modeling, supervised and unsupervised machine learning, and mathematical programming. Inspect data to confirm that it is consistent with expectations, modifying designs as necessary. Use data science toolkits and appropriate data to create prototypes of key data manipulations, visualizations and mathematical modeling elements, validating and refining designs. Convey designs to the software development teams via discussion, documentation and prototype code, ensuring that the software implementation conforms to design expectations via inspection and testing. Manage and motivate teams of professionals with diverse skills and backgrounds. Consistently deliver quality client services by monitoring progress. Demonstrate in-depth technical capabilities and professional knowledge. Maintain long-term client relationships and networks. Cultivate business development opportunities.
Full time employment, Monday â Friday, 40 hours per week, 8:30 am â 5:30 pm.
Master's degree in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science or a related field, and 3 years of related work experience. Alternatively, will accept a PhD in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science or a related field, and 1 year of related work experience.
Must have 1 year of experience with statistical and machine learning techniques and algorithms, including logistic regression, KNN, decision trees, SVM and CNN.
Must have 1 year of experience with applied statistics, including distributions, statistical testing, and regression.
Must have 1 year of experience with one of the following data science toolkits: R, Weka, NumPy, Scikit-Learn, MetLab.
Must have 1 year of experience with data visualization tools, including D3.js, GGplot and Tableau.
Must have 1 year of experience scripting and programming using SQL.
Must have 1 year of experience with data wrangling tools.
Travel required up to 20%, of which 10% may be international, to serve client needs.
