Saint Lawrence Academy, established in 1995 as a secondary school, is a four-year co-educational Catholic high school that provides students with a fully accredited college preparatory program within a small, caring environment. Saint Lawrence Academy students lead confidently, learn continuously, and walk humbly with their God.As the key instructional leader, the Principal reports directly to the President and is responsible for advancing the academic mission of the school.

The position requires a master's degree preferably in an education-related field, a California Administrative Credentials, as well as extensive administrative and classroom experience. A comprehensive knowledge of secondary school curriculum development is essential. Responsibilities and duties of this role will include:

* Sharing responsibility for the life of the school as a Catholic community. Demonstrating a strong Catholic presence in the school and serving, in all ways, as a model.

* Serving as Chief Curriculum and Instructional Officer of the school

* Serving as Chief Operating Officer – daily school management/operations

* Responsible for staff and faculty as designated by President/Superintendent (hiring, recruiting, evaluation)

* Organizing programs for professional development of the faculty and staff

* Appointing academic department chairs

* Managing all school orientation programs for new personnel, parents and students.

* Developing the school calendar with President and the Diocese of San Jose, Department of Education

* Managing academic criteria for admissions

* Supervising all enrollment management activities (open houses, admissions committee, tuition assistance committee)

* Responsible for all school files and confidentiality

* Approving Student Handbook

* Working with President on Staff and Faculty Handbook, policies with the Department of Education, Diocese of San Jose

* Planning all commencement, award related activities for student body

* Managing all school technology

* Managing all parent communications (with other administrators)

* Managing all student affairs/co-curricular activities and enforces disciplinary policies (delegation necessary)

* Defining the duties of all staff members

* Managing the physical plant (cafeteria, fields, buildings) of the school on a daily basis

* Maintains school safety and security. Cooperates with President and the Diocese of San Jose.

* Providing a Principal's Report to Board of Trustee meetings as requested

* Serving as "editor" for all school publications (including website)

* Maintaining all school accreditations

* Performing other duties as assigned by the President/Superintendent
