Title: Engineering Technician

Location: SF Bay Area

Pay: $28-$35/hr

Type: Temp to Hire

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Responsibilities

- Create and maintain highly effective operational method sheets, routings, and associated processes
- Develop and document validation methodologies for repair procedures and new materials
- Develop, optimize, and maintain repair/refurbishment procedures and documentation
- Troubleshoot manufacturing processes, equipment, fixtures, and electronic equipment testers
- Build test fixtures and test setups as directed by test engineers with focus on safety and efficiency
- Instrument of test units and collect data using data acquisition software
- Summarize and analyze data from test logs
- Document and raise issues and concerns with respect to failure of test units or setup
- Perform continuous monitoring of electrical, thermal and mechanical tests
- Conduct failure analysis and complete formal 8D from complex electro-mechanical systems
- Work with engineering, manufacturing, and quality to improve diagnostics, correct issues and drive effective counter-measurements

Requirements

- Familiarity with electronic circuits and testing, experience with high voltage environments preferred
- Experience with xFMEA and 8D
- Strong engineering skills (process development / improvement, troubleshooting, data analysis...)
- Experience with one or more of the following: Matlab, SQL, Python, LabView, PCB design preferred
- Read basic electrical circuits and mechanical drawings
- Capable of installing electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic circuitry
- Able to build mechanical rigs and fixtures using machine shop and tools
- Machine tool experience
- Familiar with using instruments like multimeters, hipot testers, and battery cyclers
- User level knowledge of MS Office programs

Education and/or Experience:

- Education = AS / BS Engineering Technology (mechanical, electrical, computer science, mechatronics)
- Experience = 3+ years

Computer and Technology Skills:

- Zeiss CMM knowledge and programming
- Metrology knowledge/experience
