Senior SEO Specialist

* Advocate SEO best practices and the value of SEO with executives and business partners across the organization and serve as a key stakeholder and subject matter expert on SEO projects

* Be responsible for identifying the highest priority fixes or opportunities for improving search visibility

* Partner with Product Managers to inform SEO priorities to ensure that SEO projects are incorporated into the overall tech roadmap

* Vet and select SEO vendors and manage vendor relationships

* Coordinate with larger marketing team to develop cohesive roadmaps; execute on seasonal content strategies; report performance results to key stakeholders

* Conduct weekly tech audits using tools and platforms such as Screaming Frog, Google Search Console, etc. to identify any new issues impacting SEO performance (e.g. XML Sitemap errors, erroneous redirects, massive generation of duplicate URLs, missing meta tags, page load speed, in-crawlability of reviews content)

* Meet with Copywriters on a bi-weekly cadence to provide insights and training on keyword research and on-page optimizations

* Provide monthly category page audits for Site Merch to flag category pages with few products

* Provide Buying, Site Merch, Social, and Paid/Affiliate teams with organic search insights and seasonal search trends using tools such as Adwords Keyword Planner, BrightEdge DataCube/Searchmetrics Research Cloud

* Distribute weekly recaps and monthly SEO newsletter to inform stakeholders and execs of most recent updates that impact the business

Requirements:

* 5+ or more years of hands on SEO experience

* Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Arts/college degree or higher

* Proven ability to work independently; can embrace a self-starter mentality in order to spearhead the direction of SEO for ModCloth

* Ability to produce immaculate deliverables that are not only completely accurate but also digestible for those who may not have had previous exposure to SEO

* Committed to putting ModCloth's shoppers first and foremost; Ability to balance brand and user experience priorities when making SEO recommendations for ModCloth

* Proven knowledge in the fundamental disciplines of SEO including on-page, technical as well as other search ranking factors

* Strong analytical skills; ability to glean opportunities as well as causality from data in order to determine actionable next steps

* Ability to evangelize SEO and convey the value of SEO to members of organization

* Able to understand, develop and apply SEO strategies across a diversity of media and channels: e.g. app, video, blended search, social search and mobile

* Ability to identify and map out the tactics used by competitors in order to glean trends and opportunities

* Ability to forge and maintain strong relationships across the organization (SF, LA, Pittsburgh)

* Proven expertise in WhiteHat link building tactics; employ legitimate and honest SEO tactics

* Aware of the latest changes in search technology by giant search engines like Google

* Basic scripting skills in any scripting language

* Experience working directly with content marketing team(s) to ideate, execute and analyze efficacy of content projects

* Experience in leveraging enterprise level platforms such as Google Analytics, Screaming Frog, Google Search Console, BrightEdge, and Searchmetrics

* Familiarity with Salesforce Commerce Cloud is a plus
