About the Team

You will be part of the Customer Relationship Marketing team responsible for managing and optimizing the advertising investment across our print and digital channels. Our job is also to ensure we are innovating and executing marketing campaigns across programs and channels that drive new customer acquisition as well as increased mindshare and wallet share with our existing customer base. You will ensure our marketing investments are delivering against core KPI's and that your marketing campaigns are aligned with the Pottery Barn brand's key initiatives and growth strategies.

About the Role

The Sr. Analyst will support the Senior Marketing Manager to help drive brand sales and optimize the marketing investment across our print and digital channels. They will help support key brand initiatives with cross-functional partners including but not limited to Back to School marketing, teen marketing programs and customer segmentation. Key responsibilities also include ideating and executing testing and optimization of campaign performance and scaling successful campaigns. They will test content and marketing messaging, report on KPI's and help the Manager with annual and monthly budgeting. They will partner with the program managers in SEO/SEM, affiliate marketing, display marketing, and other digital channels in planning, implementing, measuring, and optimizing the brands online spend. The candidate will help facilitate and support key brand initiatives with cross-functional partners including but not limited to New Mover program, College Marketing, retail marketing programs (new store openings, focus stores), and customer segmentation. A successful candidate will have some experience in performance marketing, possess an analytical mindset and be highly detail-oriented. They should be able to be flexible and thrive in a fast paced, multi-channel retail environment.

  • Help your team/Manager to optimize to and report on KPI's (e.g. sales, customer growth) for all digital and print marketing programs across all device types
  • Support Manager in the oversight of the online and print marketing budgets, make recommendations for reallocation and/or investment based on individual program performance and brand goals
  • Develop a deep understanding of the Pottery Barn brand's identity including product, editorial and marketing initiatives to be more successful in role
  • Work alongside digital subject matter experts to identify new partnerships as well as opportunities for optimizing existing partnerships where appropriate based on brand strategies and initiatives
  • Conduct measurement and analysis on the effectiveness and efficiency of existing digital programs, applying insights to the evaluation of new opportunities based on program KPI's
  • Present analysis and recommendations to the Manager, for example, weekly sales results and campaign strategies
  • Collaborate with key brand stakeholders to manage creative development process for all digital and print assets, for both new programs and refreshes of existing ones; follow up with the same stakeholders with results on prior campaigns
  • Help develop and execute store opening/closing marketing plans; assume project management function across eMail, digital, Customer Analytics, Store Ops, etc.
  • Support Manager in creating and executing multi-vehicle/channel & life stage programs including (but not limited to) New Mover, college/Dorm
  • Own relationships with key vendors: printers, Belardi, Imagitas, Experian, Abacus, etc.
  • Develop and execute profitable catalog and print circulation strategies that balance trade-off of pages, reach, frequency and format
  • Partner with Customer Analytics to measure incrementality of all marketing programs, continually improving the efficiency of our investment
  • Work alongside Manager to develop customer growth plans including new customer acquisition, lapsed customer reactivation and existing customer retention
  • Use data to identify, target and deliver relevant messaging to key strategic customer segments
  • Execute against rolling 12-month test plan to continually fuel a pipeline of new tactics; make recommendations for new tests based on learnings
  • Bring opportunistic sales driving ideas to the Manager and brand partners
  • React to business trends in the fast-paced retail environment and make necessary adjustments
  • Collaborate across brands with your peer set to help accelerate best practices and winning marketing strategies
  • Direct daily workflow of the Analyst; support Analyst in their career development, be a resource for them as needed providing training and guidance when needed

  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in online marketing, print marketing, retail marketing, or digital media planning
  • Proven track record in managing a budget to ROI goals
