The Corporate Development team focuses in evaluating and executing acquisitions aligning with the identified growth strategy.  The Corporate Development team also maximizes the opportunity for our shared customers.  In addition, they continuously work closely with key stakeholders for the product development, and sales organizations to understand the evolving market dynamics and companies in the markets relevant to Okta.

 We are looking for a summer MBA Intern to join our Corporate Development Team! As the Intern with the Corporate Development team, you will be a contributing to the team’s initiatives and goals. Your potential projects and responsibilities would be the following:  


  • Supporting the strategic M&A evaluations for Okta

  • Evaluating new markets for potential acquisitions by Okta

  • Bring cross-functional stakeholders together to build value propositions and refine the acquisition thesis

  • Identifying potential acquisition targets in selected markets

  • Coordinating due diligence efforts with a given acquisition target in alignment with Okta Ventures

  • Working with sales, and product organizations to help define the integration thesis

  • Monitoring and measure the performance of the acquisition(s)

  • Communicate frequently with executive management to ensure alignment

  • Provide internal and external thought leadership


Preferred  Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

The ideal candidate will have proven experience managing complex strategic projects with large technology companies, inclusive of setting strategy, driving business and technical alignment, communicating with both internal and external executives, and executing acquisitions. This candidate must have a demonstrated ability to build relationships across disciplines and think strategically and analytically about both business and technical challenges.


  • Currently pursuing an MBA with an expected graduation date of Summer 2021

  • Relevant business development, product management and/or corporate development experience through previous professional or internships experience

  • Firm financial foundation with fundamental understanding of SaaS metrics

  • Experience with the M&A or investment process

  • Experience with cloud software vendors and their strategies/business models

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to speak effectively to business development leaders, executives, product managers, engineers, lawyers, and security professionals

  • Leadership and communication skills that enable the building of relationships with people across all levels and organizations, internally and externally

  • Ability to formulate a partnership vision, strategy, and execution plan

  • Highly organized and detail oriented

  • Adept at handling multiple projects and priorities in an extremely fast paced environment
