We are a San Francisco based team building self-driving semi trucks. We have raised $117MM in total and are backed by Tiger Global Management ($70MM Series C) and Sequoia Capital ($30MM Series B). We move freight daily between LA and Phoenix using our purpose built transfer hubs. This is an incredibly exciting time for autonomous driving and our team is looking to grow.


We are looking for our first dedicated HR hire to build out this function within the team. You will work with the CEO and other leadership to create a culture of innovation, transparency and inclusion. This is an opportunity to shape how this function works at Embark.

Some of your projects:

Process

  • Compensation planning
  • Performance management and planning
  • Improving and building out an on-boarding process for all new employees
  • Improving time-off and vacation policies
  • Managing and improving our benefits program
  • Manage relationship with our immigration lawyer for all employee visas
  • Payroll processing
  • Help team with growth planning and leveling

People

  • Employee and manager training
  • Being the resource for all internal employees with questions or concerns about their work here
  • Spearhead inclusion and diversity initiatives

Your experience:

  • Seeing a company grow from 100 people to a 300+ person team and understanding the growth pain that comes along with that
  • First-hand experience building various aspects of an HR organization
  • Building a benefits plan
  • Familiarity with the various government filing requirements required in a growing team
