Environmental Specialist, Senior

Key Role:

Assist FEMA mitigation and recovery clients with conducting National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) reviews, environmental assessments, and developing biological assessments for mitigation and recovery related grant programs, including programs related to flooding and seismic activity. Provide technical assistance to sub-grantees in ensuring compliance with environmental and historic preservation laws, including CEQA, regulations, and rules. Conduct actions in consultation with federal, state, tribal, and non-governmental entities. Support client relationship management and market-related activities, including white paper development and proposal writing.

Basic Qualifications:

* Experience in working with the California Natural Resources Agency, California Office of Historic Preservation, or any of the nine information centers

* Experience with NEPA reviews for FEMA or HUD programs

* Experience with consultation under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act

* Experience with using wetlands databases and field surveys for performing NEPA analyses

* Experience with managing teams of 3 or more individuals

* Experience with managing a contract or task order

* Experience with serving as a lead or contributing author on large EAs or EISs

* Experience with the CEQA

* Ability to obtain a security clearance

* BA or BS degree in Environmental Sciences, Biology, or Anthropology

Additional Qualifications:

* MA or MS degree

* PMP Certification

* Secretary of the Interior Qualifications as an Archaeologist preferred
