For many people, coffee is a daily ritual that sets the tone for the rest of their day. Cafe X offers consistent, premium quality at affordable prices by designing, manufacturing, and operating robotic coffee bars that serve specialty coffee precisely brewed to the roaster’s specifications.
By automating the mechanical aspects of making coffee, our robots enable our Coffee Bar Specialists to focus on delivering a superior customer experience, setting the standard for human-robot collaboration in hospitality, one cup of coffee at a time.
Backed by Craft Ventures, Khosla Ventures, Social Capital, Felicis Ventures, and The LAUNCH Fund, Cafe X is rapidly growing the founding team to launch more locations, scale manufacturing, and develop next-generation products.
Currently, we operate three San Francisco locations: The Metreon, 578 Market Street and One Bush Plaza. We support our communities by partnering with local roasters such as Equator, Ritual and Intelligentsia, highlighting the Bay Area’s best coffee beans.

We are currently looking for Coffee Bar Specialists at our San Francisco, San Jose Airport and San Francisco Airport locations!
This job is for you if you love talking to people - especially about coffee and robots. In addition to engaging the masses with our robotic cafes you will be completing standard operational tasks on a daily basis from robot maintenance to cleaning duties Being at the forefront of robotics and automation we also need you to keep records of everything to track quality, time and efficiency.
General job responsibilities will include engaging with the public about Cafe X, maintaining our facilities and robots, field marketing, educating our customers about partner coffee roasters, and overall cleanliness of our machines.
We're basically looking for people with an insane appetite to put it all together: Customer Service, Quality Control, Cleanliness, and Maintenance. We're looking for someone that can help us further optimize our overall cafe experience and help us continue to grow our operations and efficiency.
With Cafe X, you will be on the forefront of a groundbreaking industry and with that training will be provided on all aspects of your role since it'll most likely be the first time you've worked at a robotic cafe. Opportunities are available for both part-time and full-time.
Minimum availability is at least 3 shifts of 6-8 hours per week.
- Proven track record of providing friendly customer service.
- Ability to complete standard operating procedures which may require the ability to lift 50lbs and stand continuously for up to 4 hours.
- Driven, self-directed, and able to take initiative in identifying opportunities and executing solutions.
- Willingness to learn and be part of solutions.
- Love for Coffee and Robots.

Candidates who are available at 5:30 am will be given priority. Minimum availability would be for at least 3 shifts of 6-8 hours per week. Immediate needs are for weekend shifts.
