Job summary

The Amazon Pharmacy org is hiring QA Engineers to work in our dynamic environment. The Pharmacy team builds pharmacy offerings to help customers conveniently purchase their prescription medications. Partnering with internal and external teams, we work to create reliable and simple experiences for Amazon Pharmacy customers and their medication.

Each member of the AP Quality Team is expected to be continuously learning, with a focus on automation strategy and ensuring we deliver new features with a high quality bar to customers. As a Quality Assurance Engineer with Amazon Pharmacy, you are involved in QA from the very beginning of the project, you own and drive the quality bar for our experiences across features and teams. You will build both automated and manual test strategies, create test cases, drive test execution, send regular status report, set up bug bashes, bug triage meetings and provide sign-off on features and big releases.You will work closely with developers, product managers, and other QA in order to ensure the experiences we deliver to our customers have a high level of quality. You will also have the opportunity to innovate and bring up processes in order to improve the team’s speed, quality, and efficiency.

Key job responsibilities

In this role you will –

  • Influence the quality of new customer experiences
  • Work directly with product management and development teams to review the requirements and design for features while providing insightful feedback
  • Own feature testing across multiple platforms which includes:
  • Develop test plans, testing and automation strategies
  • Find, isolate, document, regress, and track bugs through resolution
  • Interpret and report testing results
  • Being a vocal proponent for quality in every phase of the development process
  • Ensuring deliverables are launched successfully
  • Focus on test automation to increase existing coverage, while simultaneously identifying potential areas of automation to increase efficiency and reduce manual execution
  • Work with team members and actively participate in improving the team culture every day
  • Drive process improvements to improve the team’s speed, quality, and efficiency

Basic Qualifications

  • Hands on experience with scripting/coding.
  • 4+ year of experience working as a Quality Assurance Engineer
  • Experience in manual testing
  • Experience in automation testing
  • BS in Computer Science or 4+ years equivalent combination of technical education and work experience.


  • 5+ year of experience working as a Quality Assurance Engineer
  • Experience in manual testing
  • Experience in automation testing
  • Hands on experience with scripting/coding
  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent combination of technical education and work experience


  • Best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes
  • Strong organizational skills, demonstrated ability to track multiple test executions simultaneously and synthesize results.
  • Creativity and initiative to improve product test coverage and effectiveness for the entire team.
  • Experience in mobile testing, API testing and automation
  • Experience with Android, iOS or other mobile application development or testing
  • Experience on testing automation frameworks

Reporting skills, proficient in creating status reports based on automation results

Note: This position can be applied for Boston location in addition to the Seattle location

Preffered Qualifications

  • Experience building and designing multi-tier test cases
  • Experience with UI and service automation
  • Experience with performance testing
  • Experience in white and black box testing
  • Experience with open source test tools, make files and build scripts
  • Familiar with the Eclipse IDE, Appium, and Selenium
  • Ability to react well to changes, deal with a high degree of ambiguity, work with teams and multi-task on multiple products and projects
  • Ability to work on a diverse team or with a diverse range of coworkers
