STUDENT ASSISTANT-R&D - DRUG DISCOVERY & DEVELOPMENT
Who We Are:
Our experienced scientists and engineers assist in drug & biologic discovery, pharmaceutical development, & assessment of bioengineered materials and biomedical devices. Our services include computational drug design, synthesis, formulation, process, and analytical development, & project management.
Objectives of this Role:
- Assist with chemical and biological waste management, glassware cleaning, and workplace clean-up.
- Learn and assist with thin-layer chromatography (TLC) determination of synthesis intermediates.
- Learn and assist with nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) determination of synthesis intermediates.
- Assist with bench and pilot-scale Pharmaceutical synthesis, formulation, and scale-up.
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities:
- Work in lab hands-on, under supervision, doing organic chemistry synthesis.
- Work as part of a team for chemical process scale-up and production.
- Clean laboratory spaces as needed. Clean laboratory glassware as needed.
- Assist with the management of laboratory waste.
Requirements:
- Must be pursuing a Bachelors degree with a 3.00 GPA in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biology
- 1 year: of undergraduate general chemistry
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Strong communication skills
