Information Security Analyst, Mid-level (Government)

Analyze and assess risk to information technology systems and enterprise environment. Provide support to sustainment incident handling & analysis functions to detect, protect, respond, & sustain operations with and in cyberspace.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Correlate data from multiple sources (IDS, IPS, HIDS, HIPS, ArcSight Logger & ESM, HBSS, DoD DMZ logs, data acquired through computer forensics & associated toolkits, packet capture, situational awareness data sources, vulnerability repositories, cyber threat reports) and prioritize events for incident handling.

* Provide information/recommendations for the development of custom IDS signatures, detection capabilities, and tuning of IA tools for the purpose of identifying unauthorized activity based on analysis of network and host level activity, and ensure information is tracked.

Required Skills and Experience:

* CND/CNE experience.

* Bachelor's degree with 6+ years of experience; or 10+ years overall experience.

* CISSP, Security+, Network+, and/or CEH certifications at level appropriate to proposed skill level.

Desired Skills and Experience:

* Extensive knowledge and experience using NSANet, JWICS, SIPRNet, and/or NIPRNet.

* Active problem-solving skills, enthusiastic learning, understanding of new technologies and techniques and apply this information to current and future projects.

* Critical thinking, and logic skills to outline the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions; systematically selecting the optimum solutions for the give problem.

* Knowledge of and/or prior experience or basic knowledge of the USCC and/or 24 AF architecture.

* Ability to collaborate with counterparts in other organizations and at senior levels.

Required Clearance: TS//SCI Eligible and willing to take a counter espionage polygraph if required.
