We are looking for a Human Resources (HR) Manager to join our HR team based in San Antonio, TX.

About the role: The HR Manager is responsible for providing consultation and support in all functional areas of HR as a primary point of contact for our in-house employees. This role will also serve as an escalation point for field employees and a strategic partner to senior management. This position is part of Volt's Customer Care Solutions division and will be located on-site in our largest customer care center in San Antonio, TX. The position will require travel to other customer care sites.

Key responsibilities include:

* Provide consultation and tactical support to managers pertaining to operational and HR functions

* Manage full life cycle of in-house employee relations issues and perform full-cycle investigations in collaboration with Volt HR Partners to ensure proper investigation protocols are followed

* Coordinate, develop, and conduct training on various HR Training modules

* Travel to various worksites to build relationships and understanding of business

* Oversee HR Administration, including assigned department programs; wage claims, FLSA classification, create job descriptions, exempt status determination, new hire on-boarding programs

* Ensure effective day-to-day business operations, for field and in-house employee activities

* Develop processes and metrics that support the achievement of the organization's business goals

* Work with managers to ensure that their employees are performing to metrics/standards and utilize performance management methodologies to ensure consistent, measurable performance

* Respond to general HR inquires, ensure timely and effective customer service on all incoming calls and e-mails

* Perform administrative duties in support of employee lifecycle - including onboarding, status changes, and off-boarding

* Provide instruction and assistance to employees to ensure smooth transitions and consistently positive employee experience

* Create and maintain personnel files in compliance with applicable requirements

* Create and maintain a variety of reports to perform ongoing workforce analysis to make recommendations to management

* Evaluate current processes and provide recommendation for process improvements

* Partner with Sr. Management in developing and administering employee engagement/satisfaction surveys

* Represent VCCS business in Corporate HR Team and initiatives

* Partner with hiring managers to ensure highly effective, consistent interviewing practices consistent with Volt Values

* Facilitate/process required on-boarding activities including approved requisitions, completed background checks, and associated paperwork

* Assist members of HR and ER teams and/or manager on various initiatives, programs, or processes

* Perform other special projects and assignments as needed

About you:

* Bachelor's degree preferably in a related field

* Experience in a large, complex, multi-state company required

* Experience using PeopleSoft a plus

* 5+ years HR Generalist or HR Business Partner experience

* Some travel required

* Knowledge of federal and multi-state wage and hour laws

* Knowledge of federal and multi-state employment laws

* Strong interpersonal and written communication skills

* Exceptional organizational skills and multi-tasking ability

* Sense of urgency

* Ability to work well independently and exercise professional judgment with minimal day-to-day supervision

* Advanced knowledge of MS Office specifically, Access, Excel and PowerPoint

* Effectively communicate in writing

* Effectively communicate verbally including by telephone

* Effectively communicate in-person with all levels of employees, including Senior Management

* Ability to perform business presentation skills

* Ability to create complex business correspondence

* Ability to handle matters of confidentiality

* Ability to conduct research on any HR related issue
