Critical Facility Technician

POSITION SUMMARY

The Critical Facility Technician ensures the smooth, efficient, profitable operation of the assigned building project by ensuring the timely and accurate completion of all required work and by attaining the utmost in customer satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ("Incidental" job duties may be included, but must be indicated. Other essential and incidental job duties may be assigned.

* Provide 24 x 7 on-call emergency response and support as necessary to maintain the highest level of integrity and availability of building systems and infrastructure efficiency.

* Monitoring and maintaining all building systems and mission critical facilities equipment and other equipment associated with the raised floor environment.

* Provides hands on operation of site facility's equipment and processes in accordance with policies and procedures.

* Perform daily/weekly/monthly walk-through of customer facilities in support of data center and office operations.

* Perform tests and rounds, and analyze the data to assure the proper functioning of equipment.

* Perform preventive maintenance on all building equipment.

* Assist with the preparation of MOPs as directed.

* Ensure efficient operation of all building systems.

* Provides technical expertise and assistance. All technicians are expected to be Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in at least one area or site system.

* Operates site facility equipment and systems without error to obtain maximum availability.

* Provides suggestions for continuous improvements in the areas of process improvement and cost reduction savings.

* Assist, as necessary, with scheduling of preventative maintenance, contracted maintenance, and general maintenance with minimal disruption of building services.

* Coordinate maintenance with outside vendors and oversee vendor maintenance.

* Respond quickly to emergency situations and customer concerns.

* Ensure strict adherence to critical facility work rule and safety procedures.

* Ensure Sr. Critical Facilities Technician and/or Contract Manager receive timely verbal and written operating reports that give him/her a clear understanding of the condition of the buildings critical systems and the present level of ongoing preventative maintenance.

* Provides training (within their expertise) to other technicians as required and necessary.

* Encourages, trains and evaluates Apprentice's technical and behavioral skills. Sets professional example.

* Manage subcontractors as required ensuring scope compliance and quality of services performed.

* Monitors contactors for procedural, safety, environmental, and risk mitigation procedures in compliance with established procedures/polices/laws.

* Arrives to work on time and ready to contribute, stays and completes tasks, as required, and works overtime as assigned and required.

* Be familiar with all applicable Federal, State, and local rules, codes, and regulations.

Minimum Requirements

* Top secret clearance required

* At least one (1) year experience supporting mission critical environments.

* Current electrical/mechanical Journeyman's license preferred.

* Hands on electrical or mechanical skill, and competence in the area of non-expertise (for example, electrical expertise with a mechanical competence, or vice-versa)

* Operate and perform both routine and emergency service on a variety of state of the art critical systems.

* CFC Certified – Universal- HVAC Tech

* Ability to obtain and maintain TCI/SCI clearance.

* Knowledge and experience using basic computer applications.
