General Purpose

Support clients of the PacifiCorp systems. IT support responsibilities include; imaging new PCs or laptops, hardware/software setup and configuration, remote control, phone installation, mobile device and PC hardware/software troubleshooting as well as working with other IT teams to provide technical assistance as required.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities of this position include the following:

* Provide support to IT users employing a high degree of customer service, technical expertise and timeliness. Building and configuring workstations, laptops, tablets and hybrid devices as well as loading software. Troubleshoot and resolve moderate to complex client problems. Refers to solution database, other IT professionals and expertise to identify technical issues and resolve. May consult in the evaluation of business initiatives and recommend solutions.

* Assist new hires in the evaluation of the needs for computing software and equipment as well as in the implementation and testing of prototypes. Consult with client area management and staff regarding PC and network systems and equipment problems or malfunctions and recommend solutions. Deploy software upgrades.

* Work with other IT departments as needed to support the IT infrastructure. Including installing and troubleshooting server and networking hardware. Position also acts as a liaison relating business issues to technical teams.

* Provide in-depth subject matter expertise for technology utilized in a dedicated assigned support area. Build positive working relationships with designated clients to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with clients and management.

* Develop, work through, and complete medium projects as well as document processes and procedures according to corporate standards. Delegating responsibilities of the project to appropriate team members and provide status to supervisors and clients.

* Perform other tasks as requested or assigned.

Responsibilities of the level 3 position include:

* Serve as escalation resource for problem resolution for IT Support Specialists 1 & 2. Can provide fill in for manager duties as needed.

Requirements

Requirements for this position include the following:

* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent work experience. (Typically four years of additional related, progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a Bachelor's degree. A minimum of three years additional directly related technical experience is required.)

* Three years of hands-on experience in a technical support role which includes desktop support responsibilities.

* Advanced troubleshooting and resolution skills

* Strong verbal and written communication skills.

* Ability to work well independently and with others.

* Proven competency in troubleshooting desktop device conflicts, connectivity issues, and application issues in Windows operating system environment.

* A+ Certification a plus

* MCSE certification desirable.

In addition, requirement for the Level 3 position are:

* Five years of hands-on experience in a technical support role which includes desktop support responsibilities.

* Ability to guide less experienced staff.
