BioFire Diagnostics is seeking to add a Product Transfer Manager to our growing team! The IVD Product Transfer groups are expanding and we need a great individual ready to work closely with Technology Transfer Project Managers in their efforts to transfer new products and processes from R&D to manufacturing. The Product Transfer Manager is responsible for supervising Technology Transfer Project Managers and activities related to the transfer of new and/or updated products and processes to manufacturing.

The Product Transfer Manager is responsible for supervising Technology Transfer Project Managers designated by the Associate Director of IVD Product Transfer. They are responsible for resource assignment, and will be responsible for communicating group progress, project bottlenecks, and staffing issues to the Associate Director of IVD Product Transfer. Additionally, they will be responsible for transfer duties and responsibilities not allocated to a Technology Transfer Project Manager. Coordination of all transfer efforts is critical. The resource pool for Technology Transfer Project Managers is small and must be closely managed to ensure timely and complete transfers for all BioFire products. Position may require between 5-10% domestic and/or international travel to meet off-site, visit service centers, suppliers, and manufacturing sites, or receive training to supplement job duties.


  • Perform all work in compliance with company policy and within the guidelines of BioFire Diagnostics’ Quality System.
  • Provides transfer resources to projects.
  • Uses program/project management techniques to assign all work and projects to Technology Transfer Project Managers.
  • Establishes and tracks metrics for transfer processes to enable consistent and appropriate project timelines.
  • Maintains and updates Technology Transfer work instruction documents and processes as needed to streamline efforts and maintain quality.
  • Leads weekly group and individual status meetings.
  • Works with Program and other Project Managers to assist Technology Transfer Project Managers in developing project transfer timelines.
  • Will review project risks, identify bottlenecks/issues, and work with Technology Transfer Project Managers to ensure quality and time-line are met for all product transfers.
  • Directly supervises staff, which includes hiring, orienting, onboarding, and training, participates in work performance appraisals and discipline. Will review staffing and plan for hires as needed.
  • Responsible for timesheet approval, PTO approvals, and attendance tracking.
  • Work collaboratively with direct reports to create employee development plans.
  • Participates in management training.
  • New and/or currently undefined company needs that can be fulfilled by the Product Transfer Manager may be required.



BSc or MS in life sciences or engineering

  • Equivalent and relevant work experience may be substituted for some education

5+ years’ directly related work experience with 2+ years of leadership or management experience. Experience in medical device industry preferred

3+ years’ work experience in project management required

3+ years’ experience working in ISO 9001/13485 and/or cGMP/cGLP compliant environment preferred



Ability to understand the Technology Transfer Project Manager position, its role, and its responsibilities.

Proficiency in MS Office Suite including Project and Visio

Strong leadership and decision making ability

Strong documentation practices, planning, and organization skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage employees and provide timely/consistent feedback.

Ability to effectively prioritize and make decisions in a fast-paced environment

Proficiency in MS Office Suite including Project and Visio

Desired but not required:

Familiarity with the following software packages: Solidworks, Perforce, Arena, SAP, Asana, Office 365
