Job Summary

Provides excellent customer service while performing dispatch work and appeals hearings for Commuter Services Parking Enforcement and Appeals Department. This job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification. Responsibilities

Dispatches Parking Enforcement Operations by radio, telephone, and online services. Fields incoming phone calls from outside departments and entities. Processes Appeals hearings both online and in person. Processes work orders for field maintenance. May be required to direct traffic in parking lots during special events such as football, basketball, entertainment events, theatrical productions, or University wide events (commencement). May be required to testify in court involving contested citations as requested by the Attorney General's office. May set up, take down, maintain and inventory all equipment needed for special event parking. The incumbent may be required to work overtime hours during special events, weekends, and holidays as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

Two years related parking enforcement experience, or equivalency; a valid Utah's Driver's License; and demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills required. Must be able to pass a background review.

Preferences

Problem solving skills demonstrated advanced computer experience including word processing and excel spread sheet skills. Knowledge of U of U commuter policy and procedures and Utah State Parking Codes. Ability to evaluate and resolve parking issues and payments and payments options for impounded customers. Be able to handle high stress and crisis situations; and have a commitment to provide excellent customer service. Be able to multitask. Be motivated.
