Integration Engineer

Role: Integration Engineer

Location: Salt Lake City, UT


The Integration Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining system integrations and components, including but not limited to; application to application integrations, services, internal and external API, file transfer, and EDI and SQL queries. The Integration Engineer is fully responsible for participating in requirements analysis and decomposition, design, development, internal testing, and the documentation of same for the application-application integrations. Primary responsibilities will also include troubleshooting existing integrations, converting existing integrations to the Dell Boomi platform, and providing technical support.


* Participate in strategy and roadmap exercises, architecture definition, and application integration design.

* Translate functional and technical requirements into processes and configurations within the Dell Boomi platform.

* Coordinate the movement, manipulation, integration, quality and availability of data throughout the enterprise.

* Develop, customize, and enhance integration solutions utilizing Dell Boomi.

* Document new and existing integrations, clearly indicating the purpose for each.

* Participate in status meetings with the ability to identify risks and escalate issues.

* Work with other team members to resolve data, functional and application issues

* Automate processes associated with production applications & environments & assists others. Supports production environments.

* Convert integrations done in other technologies, such as Biztalk, PHP and SSIS, to Boomi integration processes.


* Knowledge of integration design patterns

* Understanding of web services

* Understanding of relational database concepts and T-SQL scripting (queries, store procedures, functions, etc.)

* Knowledge about various architectures and protocols such as XML, XSLT, SOA, SOAP, REST, FTP, and WSDL

* Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)

* Bachelor's degree from a reputed institution in computer science, or related field

* Effective oral and written communication skills and ability to build and maintain positive working relationships

* Demonstrated ability to identify, prioritize and complete tasks in an environment of competing priorities


* Experience with Dell Boomi integration and workflow software

* Experience with Java and Groovy

* Experience with BizTalk

* Experience with other integration software (Mulesoft, TIBCO, Cast Iron, Informatica, etc.)

* Experience with SOA, ESB and JMS concepts and implementations
