Position Summary

Home Location of this position will be determined at time of candidate selection, St. Petersburg FL, Clearwater FL, Walsingham FL, and Seven Springs, FL.

This Position provides leadership and direction for the Lighting Programs engineering, design, scheduling and implementation of all system Lighting Programs projects within the assigned jurisdiction. Focus will be on completing the design execution of all work management projects within the identified and agreed upon time frame, and within a Safety focused environment. This position will lead, organize and develop the assigned jurisdictional Lighting Programs Engineering and construction workforce to provide reliable service to all customers and internal departments. Additionally, this position will lead the jurisdictional design functions (routine and major projects) in compliance with all applicable state, federal and corporate requirements, including standards, work methods, procedures, and safe work practices. This position requires intensive interaction and networking skills with peers and stakeholders. The Manager, Lighting Programs Engineering leader will also provide direct support and coaching to individual performers and peers as needed.

Responsibilities

Leads the Lighting Programs Engineering team to ensure the provision of reliable and quality service.

* Manage the design, scheduling and implementation of all Lighting Programs engineering, construction and maintenance projects.

* Leads and assures that assigned work within the jurisdiction is completed according to schedule and in compliance with design and construction standards.

* Oversees standard work processes are followed by team.

* Lead, monitor and review quality and performance results.

* Champions and leads opportunities for improvement.

* Initiates the development of plans to ensure objectives are achieved and improvement opportunities are addressed.

* Establishes and communicates expectations to team.

* Maintains responsibility for O&M and capital budget execution and monitoring within the zone(s).

* Provides input and supports development of financial and operational plans for Lighting Programs.

* Provides oversight and ownership of field operations engineering functions.

* Direct technical Lighting Programs engineering support for internal & external customers. This would entail supporting other departments/areas within the company to achieve overall corporate initiatives and objectives.

Maintains productive and motivated work force to ensure a cohesive team effort.

* Manage the Lighting Programs Engineering staff, providing engineering design and technical support. This is including determination of contingency staffing needs. This would entail the scope of quantity, timetable, nature of the delivered engineering product and ultimate quality and contract adherence. Allocate resources within jurisdiction to address emergent issues and maximize staff utilization and efficiency.

* Participates in development and ensures implementation of organizational improvements and technology.

Maintain positive customer relations to resolve complaints and concerns.

* Ensure timely response to customer concerns

* Ensure satisfactory resolution of customer concerns.

* Ensures that customer incidents are thoroughly investigated and reviewed with responsible employees and supervisors.

* Works with other leadership to implement improvements for customer satisfaction.

* Support the area storm center as directed by the Engineering & Construction Planning leader of the jurisdiction for major storm events.

Supports direction and initiatives of overall Distribution organization

* Provides feedback and proposed solutions for operational and financial issues to leadership as appropriate

* Supports peers in organization through sharing of best practices and learnings.

* Serves on jurisdictional, department or cross-functional level teams in support of company objectives

Basic/Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree from a 4-year college or university in Engineering, Business Management or directly-related studies and a minimum of 4 years operational experience or related field OR a minimum of 8 years of operational experience or related field in lieu of a degree.

* Previous supervisory / management experience

* Thorough understanding of budgeting and goal setting practices and the ability to manage departmental budgets to achieve financial and operational goals
