Your Opportunity

Stantec's growing multi-disciplinary office in St.Paul, MN has an opportunity for a Water Resources Scientist. This position requires the flexibility to work in the office and on construction sites. The majority of the work will be in the Twin Cities metro area. There will be occasional need to travel for periods of several weeks for projects in Greater Minnesota or neighboring states. Your Key Responsibilities

* Conduct erosion control and stormwater compliance inspections and documentation on active construction sites.

* Review and prepare erosion and sediment control plans and SWPPPs.

* Interpret federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.

* Assist with NPDES program development and preparation of MS4 Permits and SWPPPs.

* Interact and communicate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.

* Interact with and develop excellent relations with clients, regulators, and stakeholders.

* Ensure QA/QC requirements and procedures are adhered to.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

* Knowledge of the Twin Cities metro area.

* Ability to work independently.

* Ability to work weekends as needed, as dictated by weather and construction needs.

* Ability to travel to remote sites as needed for extended periods.

* Prefer field experience in construction site stormwater compliance.

* Prefer current technical knowledge regarding construction site BMPs.

* Prefer knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements associated with stormwater compliance.

* Knowledge of database management is considered an asset.

* Valid Drivers License and good driving record.

* Must pass a drug screening prior to employment with Stantec.

Education and Experience

Bachelors Degree in Water Resources, Natural Resources, Civil Engineering, or related field.

0-4 year's experience
