Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT:

Performs music therapy services in a professional and compassionate manner utilizing music therapy techniques appropriate for the individual patient; documents each session in the patient's electronic medical chart (EPIC); provides referrals for additional CCT therapies when appropriate & necessary. Participates as an integral member of an interdisciplinary health care team. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Bachelors or Master's Degree in music therapy from a college or university accredited by the American Music Therapy Association and has completed an internship.

Experience:

Experience providing music therapy in a hospital and/or health care setting.

Knowledge, Skills

& Abilities:

* Knowledge of the professional ethics and values of music therapy practice.

* Demonstrated ability to establish rapport quickly with people of all backgrounds & sensitivity to cross-cultural issues.

* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with patients, families, co-workers and community contacts.

* Basic computer skills

* Excellent listening, oral and written communication skills.

* Excellent organizational skills.

* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Licensure/Registration/Certification:

Current board certification from the Certification Board for Music Therapists or board certification obtained within three months from date of hire.
