Job Description

The Legal division of Thomson Reuters is embarking on a major data transformation. The Manager, Business Intelligence will be an integral member of the Data and Analytics team at the center of this transformation. This new role will be accountable for setting the strategy and implementing the delivery of business reporting to facilitate making data a way of life for the entire Legal division.

Job Requirements

* Provide thought leadership in the definition, solution design and enablement of the enterprise business intelligence portfolio

* Lead medium to large complex reporting projects and initiatives

* Gather requirements, identify data gaps, aid in the creation of new/modify report prototypes and build automated reporting solutions

* Promote and facilitate the development of self-service capabilities for the business in the access and reporting of business data

* Stay abreast of new and emerging BI technologies and the potential application on the business side


* At least 3+ years of management experience in a Business Intelligence / Reporting function; preferably with strong track record of hiring and developing diverse analytic teams

* At least 5+ years of experience in the analysis of complex data with the ability to create thresholds and key performance indicators (KPIs) for management teams

* A depth of experience in extracting data from multiple sources and integrating them into a single source view/report/dataset

* A multi-year track record of working with senior leaders, users and stakeholders across a matrixed organization to understand business needs that drive BI requirements

* Experience in delivering self-service BI solutions that promote data discover

* Thorough understanding of visualization, analytics, dashboards, and KPI scorecards through tools such as SAP Business Objects and Tableau

* Comfort in outlining project timelines and processes to deliver quality solutions, and drive user behaviors that lead to adoption of BI solutions to improve operations and/or outcomes

* Demonstrated business acumen and the ability to apply technology solutions to solve business problems

* Able to simplify and improve inefficient or unnecessarily complex processes.

* Experience with statistics or Machine Learning methodologies a plus


* Bachelors (+7 years of experience) or Masters in quantitative field
