Job Description:


Provide Safety & Security support at Regions Hospital through patrols of the Emergency Department and the hospital to provide assistance to staff where situations may place them at risk. This position will work directly with the Off Duty Triage Officer and the Safety & Security Officers to effectively communicate and respond to events that arise. The position will be responsible interacting with law enforcement agencies and EMS agencies that are transporting persons who have been or who have been known to cause situations that may present a safety risk to staff. This position will be responsible for performing threat assessments and effectively communicating risks to staff that will be providing care for the patient. Performs other duties as assigned.



High school diploma or equivalent. Two years of college course work in police sciences or related fields. 40 hour Critical Incident Technique training preferred.


One (1) year completed work experience in a law enforcement position and is currently employed by either the St. Paul Police Department or the Ramsey County Sherriff's Department.

Knowledge, Skills

& Abilities:

* Strong written and verbal communication skills

* Knowledge of state and local laws

* Ability to command a physical presence and bearing which will enable the required job performance


Licensed to practice law enforcement in the State of Minnesota.
