Responsibilities and Qualifications

The exterior and interior signage program coordinator is responsible for coordinating Mercy's signage system and process to ensure Mercy facilities have a consistent patient wayfinding experience when it comes to the content, placement and types of signs used to guide patients and guests to their destination. This position is also responsible for meeting deadlines to ensure signage is in place when needed and with correct content to meet regulatory requirements. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

* Daily update the exterior signage project list with any tasks accomplished. Note: at any given time there are approximately 60-75 active sign projects under coordination.

* Weekly conduct a touch-base with the exterior sign vendor to review the whole project list to gather updates to the projects.

* Determine the priority projects for the coming weeks and communicate those with the sign vendor.

* Distribute the weekly update of the signage project list to those who have interest in the projects.

* Review new requests received through email, meetings or the signage form on the Brand Hub. Determine information needed to make recommendations. (Includes interior)

* Study sites and determine the signage recommendations for locations, content and sign types.

* Gather service and provider information for the door vinyl and directional sign content.

* Field daily phone calls and emails concerning signage projects and requests. This can include phone calls when the sign installers are in the field and need information ASAP. (Includes interior)

* Negotiate with local operations concerning types of signage and content, to include determining when guideline variances may be needed. (Includes interior)

* Review proposals and packages when budget issues arise and signage costs need to be reduced. (Includes interior)

* Meet regularly with Compliance to complete HOD signage changes. Once direction is determined, they feed into the weekly process outlined above. (Includes interior)

* Ensure the signage packages and proposals are approved in time to install per deadlines given.

* Write and present variances to local planning and zoning committees as need per sign packages and local ordinances.

* Communicate concerning installation timeframes and connect the sign vendor with the local general contractor or the local Facilities team to coordinate on installation issues.

* Maintain a "completed" and "hold" list of signage projects.

* Field invoices for work completed and send those to appropriate parties for payment.

* Field an aging report weekly to determine what is over 60 days and needs to be paid ASAP and send email reminders for payment.

* Performs other work duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Qualifications

* Education: Associate degree or equivalent education/experience preferred.

* Experience: One to three years of similar project coordination experience handling multiple projects at a time. Specific experience with the construction trades that operate on a regional or national level is a huge plus.

* Other Skills and Knowledge:

* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

* The ability to collaborate within an organization; a strong team player willing to learn and foster successful relationships at all levels.

* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

* Strong relationship building skills building trust and follow-up.

* Strong organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

* Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent education is preferred.

* Certification/Registration: Having a graphics background is a plus.

* Other Skills and Knowledge:

* Experience using computer-based tracking systems.

* The ability to read and interpret construction documents and floor plans
