MTM, Inc. continues to grow and we are seeking an Employee Relations Specialist (ERS)

The Employee Relations Specialist (ERS) administers People & Culture policies and programs, balancing employee advocacy and business operating needs. The ERS ensures a fair and consistent approach to MTM's policies and procedures, in efforts to promote a positive culture within MTM. In addition, this position provides comprehensive HR guidance to MTM's team members in the areas of performance management, conflict management and leadership. The ERS partners with business leaders to fully understand business issues and how HR can best support achieving results through building relationships in various departments for organizational effectiveness.

This position is located at our office in Chesterfield, Missouri.

Responsibilities:

* Develop positive employee relations across the organization

* Advise, guide and support leadership level staff in the areas of documentation, disciplinary action, policy administration, and improving employee morale

* Assist training department with ensuring supervisors are on task with completing performance reviews, annual goals, administering coaching and disciplinary documentation

* Investigate employee misconduct and recommend appropriate action

* Ensure company policies are administered fairly and consistently throughout responsible location(s)

* Serve as a corporate liaison to assist company-wide initiatives such as: wellness, retention, engagement, and culture

* Assist Benefits Team with open enrollments, questions regarding FMLA, 401k plan, and LOA

* Assist with monthly activities, team building, and community involvement in assigned location(s)

* Work closely with Talent Acquisition Team to assist with corporate recruiting efforts, e.g., participating in interviews, conducting exit interviews, identifying ideal candidates for open positions, internships, job fairs and job descriptions as needed

* Ensure compliance with all state and federal discrimination and employment regulations

* Assist with investigating and gathering documentation for EEO complaints as needed

* Serve as corporate liaison in unemployment hearings

* Actively participate in Corporate Safety Committee meetings and emergency drills throughout responsible location(s)

* Attend quarterly meetings at corporate office to update HR team on activities in area of responsibility

* Remain current on federal, state and local personnel laws and act proactively to recommend solutions to executive management regarding any violations and ensure updates to company HR policies

* Maintain good communication and positive relationships with employees to promote employee satisfaction and ensure positive working environment

* Use sound judgment around issues that may have adverse effects on the business from an employee relations perspective

* Prepare reports for executive management as needed

* Conduct presentations to management and executive staff as needed

* Understand MTM's business plan objectives and the impact of this role in growing our business

Minimum Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent work experience

* 5+ years' experience in HR/Employee Relations or similar role

* Strong knowledge of human resources policies/procedures and knowledge of local, state, and federal employment/labor laws

* Intermediate level of proficiency or above with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

* Union experience, preferred

* SHRM certification, preferred

* Flexibility to travel both locally and out-of-state on a monthly basis

* Must possess a valid driver's license

* Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future

* Ability to analyze data/HR metrics and make proposals to improve organizational efficiency

* Practical knowledge of staffing and employment practices

* Ability to work well under pressure and in stressful situations

* Ability to work independently and also collaboratively with others to achieve defined goals

* Outstanding analytical skills

* Attention to detail

* Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality

* Ability to handle questions and resolve issues in a timely and constructive manner
