SUMMARY

The Director of Data Governance (DDG) is responsible for establishing, implementing and sustaining a Data Governance Strategy across Stifel Financial Corporation (SFC) Enterprise and is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the data strategies and alignment of data-related business and technology initiatives, projects, and/or programs. These activities will harness data as an enterprise corporate asset and ensure the efficient and effective use of people, processes, and technologies to deliver fast access to high-quality data across the enterprise. The Director of Data Governance will help SFC and its operational areas understand its data and information assets, and how to appropriately govern those assets to promote company-wide data aggregation, sharing, and quality. This individual will provide consultation to senior leadership, business subject matter experts, and partnering organizations to develop and focus information lifecycle management strategies, data sharing strategies, and analytical or reporting needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Development of data governance control assurance processes.

* Implementation of the RSA Archer Security Operations module for the firm.

* Development and management of enterprise data policies, standards, and processes.

* Development of processes so that the organization may fully understand the nature and quality of the data under management, as well as mechanisms to evaluate, prevent, and remediate defects, to assure that the quality of data meets business purposes and the organization's strategic objectives.

* Ensure that processes are designed to help an organization ensure that data requirements are fully specified; data is traceable through all of the business processes that produce or consume it; data changes and their processes are managed; and data sources are selected based on requirements, well controlled, and verified as authoritative.

* Consultation on the design and development of an optimal data layer to meet present and future business objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS

* Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field required

* Master's degree in computer science or business preferred

* 7-10 years working in Financial Services Information Management/Data acquisition required

* 7-10 years project management experience preferred

* Ability to determine how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes

* Ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong; may or may not involve actually solving the problem

* Some travel by car and/or air in conjunction with local, regional and/or national travel, up to 50%.
