The Software Validation Engineer II tests embedded software by following defined processes as directed by the Software Validation Group Leader on a program.


Examples of specific responsibilities and tasks include, but are not limited to:

* Executes system tests and logs defects.

* Creates system test cases.

* Updates the status of problems in the problem tracking system.

* Works with the test lab to test new programs and maintain existing ones as well as to coordinate the creation of test tools.

* Assists the Software Validation Group Leader in software test planning as a member of the team.

* Provides testing support at client sites when required.



Bachelor's Degree

Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering or Computer Science


2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area

Tool, Techniques and Knowledge:

This individual must have experience with the following: communication protocols (CAN, GMLAN, LIN); simulation tools (DiVA, SDATT, CANalyzer, CANoe); LIN testing with J2602A specifications; CANdb/CANdb++ Editor (to specify nodes, signals, variables, messages); and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project). They must also have experience in analyzing customer requirements and in transferring flow charts and state diagrams to create test cases. Lastly, this individual must be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field. More specifically, this means knowledge of the following: software testing for automotive embedded systems, black box testing, and system testing.

Physical Demands:

This job requires up to 5% domestic and/or international travel for customer support. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit in an office environment and handle equipment.
