In partnership with the US Forest Service, MobilizeGreen is seeking a Program Development, Budget, and Special Uses intern to support the Incident Procurement Programs. The intern will be trained to perform all aspects of administering Region 5 program support within the Incident Procurement Programs. The Forest Service provides services that support our federal emergency response to wildfires and other natural disasters (incidents). Each year, the Forest Service responds to emergency incidents protecting resources and private property. The incident response requires contract support of equipment, supplies and services. The Incident Procurement office ensures that agreements and contracts are in place to provide the support to Incident personnel. The Intern will administratively support the processes behind the applications, regulations, personnel, customers, etc. The intern will also learn how the processes interact and affect the response to emergency incidents in regards to contracted equipment and services. The intern will assist the contracting officers by performing administrative support to accomplish all contracts and agreements.

Term: Full-time (40 hours per week), M-F, for 52 weeks starting July 2018


* $500/wk living stipend

Duties & Responsibilities

* Access procurement systems, and analyze information to create reports (spreadsheets)

* Data entry for various Acquisition Databases

* Process invoices, file documentation as needed in support of the office

* Answer Contractor/Vendor questions regarding the Incident Procurement office, or refer to appropriate contact

* Provide administrative support to Virtual Incident Procurement Program Contracting Officers

* Develop knowledge on Forest Service regulations and policies, in relation to Incident Procurement

* Setup contract folders with appropriate tabs and dividers, filing documents appropriately

* Maintain files and records in various databases

* Provide excellent customer service to customer programs and vendors

* Provide strong oral and written communication to Region 5 offices, through the use of email, letters and telephone.

Required skills:

* Education or experience with business, accounting or equivalent (Degree not needed with experience, but post high school degree preferred)

* Ability to learn new software applications quickly

* Strong oral and written communication

* Customer Service experience

* Proficient in Microsoft, Word, Excel, PowerPoint

* Comfortable traveling 1 week per month.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

The work environment presents normal, every-day risks or discomforts typical of offices, meeting rooms, field, and travel situations. Local travel in the metropolitan areas and locations outside the office may be required on a limited basis. The work requires the RA be flexible and be able to adapt to a variety of work settings, both indoors and outdoors. There may be lifting and moving boxes and equipment up to 25 pounds. At special events such as recruitment/outreach/hiring events, the RA may be standing and engaged in active discussions for long periods.
