Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the Executive Producer for Creative Services, the Media Production Specialist III will be responsible for all phases of multimedia productions, with an emphasis on still photography, including client consultation, media design, project planning, media production, postproduction activities, and production evaluation that further the goals of Academic Affairs, the University and the CSU.

FLSA

Exempt - This position is covered by health benefits, and is exempt, (not eligible for overtime compensation) according to the Fair Labor Standards Act.

A talented and diverse mix of internal capabilities and skills – including project management and instructional, video and graphic design, combined with a strong network of outside vendor partners – provide a comprehensive one-stop-service approach for projects large and small.

Minimum Qualifications

Entry to the first level within this classification requires a basic knowledge of and skill in graphics, still or motion photography, or television production. This knowledge and skill normally is obtained through a bachelor's degree in a related field and at least six months of experience in still and motion picture photography, including a thorough knowledge of video production techniques.

Required Qualifications

Experience:

1. Experience planning, developing, producing and/or editing multimedia assets, particularly still photography

2. Experience providing lead work direction to creative staff

3. Project management experience

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

4. Comprehensive and in-depth knowledge of production theory, principles and techniques as they apply to multimedia assets

5. Strong skills in production, project and budget managment

6. Comprehensive knowledge of copyright and other applicable laws pertaining to publications and media

7. Editing skills utilizing computer programs (e.g. Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Office Suite)

8. Skills in utilizing multimedia production equipment, such as still and video cameras and lighting

9. Exceptional interpersonal skills

10. Excellent communication and interpretive skills

11. Excellent organizational skills

12. Experience developing and/or editing virtual reality multimedia assets

13. Experience in installing and/or troubleshooting computer hardware and software

14. Experience developing and/or managing projects using dedicated software
