The Role: The Vice President of Safety and Manufacturing Systems will develop and maintain a World Class Manufacturing System. The Vice President will have the authority to direct and coordinate broad manufacturing activities toward achieving the Corporate objectives in accordance with established policies. Responsible for all US manufacturing facilities in conjunction with the goals as set by Corporate. Provide counsel and assistance to other Vice Presidents and to Operations concerning their overall growth, operating policies and profit objectives. This job requires strong communication, interpersonal and team building skills to support the organization. Key Responsibilities

* Must care about people, valuing staff as the greatest assets of Wenger. The communication skills required for this position must be able to effectively reach the heart of our people to engage their minds and hands for a safe and successful outcome;

* Safety/Environmental must have a proven fluency in understanding how to develop and ensure sustaining of best practices in Safety. This includes a Safety first bias with a strong focus on accident prevention. Must maintain environmental policies that support ISO 14001 compliance. It is vital that all Wenger facilities are OSHA compliant. Consideration for future participation in the OSHA Strategic Partnership Program (OSPP) to be evaluated;

* Risk Mitigation assesses present and future needs, trends, problems and conditions within Manufacturing that could harm our employees, threaten our supply chain, productivity and/or quality that negatively impacts the profitability of the Company;

* Organizes and promotes, in development of business plan and operating policies for the Company. Assists in preparing short and long plans. Establishes a budget of operations and ensures that budgeted goals are achieved, and cost objectives are met;

* Within the Companys overall plan and policies, establishes short and long-term operating and financial objectives that support the Business Plan Objectives or BPOs. Each objective must be meaningful and purposeful with evidence of success through regular KPI reporting;

* Productivity will be achieved through regular Kaizen activities and other Lean practices being evaluated, established and sustained over time;

* Quality assurance and Zero Defects will be driven by objectives with evidence of success through KPI reporting. Tools such as 5 Why methodology, fish bone charts, A-3, etc. to implement corrective actions to be considered and implemented;

* Wenger desires to develop a Six S methodology, in-line with World Class standards;

* Ensures that approved policies and objectives are clearly understood and effectively applied;

* Review and appraises the results of the activities with manufacturing. Take or ensures appropriate remedial action as necessary.

* Reviews and evaluates contracts, appropriations and expenditure requests submitted by Management; approves those with authority, submits those beyond authority to CEO or other designated member of the Leadership Team along with recommendations.

* Develops and trains Superintendents or Managers within the Company and reviews and appraises performance. Identifies strengths and improvements needed of direct reports. Develops in conjunction with Human Resources training plans to aid overall employee performance. Recommends or approves compensation changes for key personnel within assigned departments in accordance with Company policy. Ensures that the organization structure is efficiently planned and adequately and completely staffed;

* Global support could be needed for overseas operations, providing guidance with improvement projects or commissioning of new equipment as required;

* Could be called upon to help support opportunities through acquisition, and/or merger of existing plant facilities or building of new facilities including the overall evaluation of the utilization of physical properties;

* Ensures that systems, such as ERP or MRP is supported by the defined super users of the Company, policy and procedures are set up to work at all sites. Ensures training and implementation timely to all sites;

* Responsible for leading by example and adhering to and/or enforcing all Wenger operating policies and practices;

* Performs other duties as assigned by the CEO or other designated member of the Leadership Team;

* The aim of all Leaders, including the Vice President of Safety and Manufacturing, is to ensure achieving desired profitability under all conditions

Physical/Environmental Requirements

* Manufacturing environment: may be exposed to loud noises, machinery with moving parts in work areas not climate controlled.

* Wearing proper personal protective equipment when in manufacturing areas (safety glasses).

* Bending, stooping, twist, turn, sitting for extended time periods, reaching, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 20 lbs. occasionally

Minimum Qualifications

* BBA with a background in Engineering/Engineering Management preferred.

* Minimum of fifteen (15) years Plant Management.

* Safety first mindset

* Strong, positive communication skills

* Efficient and organized, on-time / time management

* Six S fluency

* Knowledgeable in Lean MFG, fluency in Kaizen, Six Sigma or other disciplines

* Knowledge of financials

* Problem solving, root-cause analysis fluency

* OSHA compliance

* Keep proprietary and company information confidential in compliance with employee agreement

* ERP and/or MRP knowledge

* ISO Quality Systems understanding

* Office equipment

* Computer skills

* Travel 05 10% of the time in the U.S. or International

* Valid Passport and the ability to obtain foreign Visas

* A valid drivers license

* Solid problem- solving skills and attention to detail.

* Ability to work in a team environment.

* Passing of drug/alcohol screening required.

* Self-motivated.

Preferred Qualifications

* MBA with background in Engineering / Engineering Management
