Residential Counselor- Afterschool Program, $16-17/hr

The Home for Little Wanderers, Therapeutic After School Program is looking for Residential Counselors on a part-time basis (24 hours/week) to make a difference in the lives of youth who have experienced trauma and/or who have significant emotional and behavioral challenges. Join a dynamic team of professionals implementing our trauma informed care model. Support youth in developing the skills they need to successfully transition home to families. Teach age appropriate life skills, coping skills, and social skills through modeling, counseling, and other techniques. Participate in groups and activities designed to enhance youth growth and development. Participate in both on-site and off-site recreational/educational activities. Maintain a safe and supportive environment.

The Home offers extensive training and support to all new staff and many opportunities for career and professional development. Qualifications include prior experience working with youth, HS diploma or equivalency. Bachelor's degree preferred. Clean driving record and the ability to obtain a 7D license is required. Starting hourly rate is $17.00 for Bachelor's level candidates. We offer excellent benefits, sign-on bonuses and generous paid time off.

TASP provides Boston-area youth aged 10 to 18 with a community-based after school treatment environment. The program offers a therapeutic milieu with educational support, therapy and psychoeducational groups, and recreational and social skill building activities, as well as individualized treatment planning. TASP clients are referred by the Department of Mental Health, the Department of Children and Families, and other state and community agencies.
