Provides patient care under MD referral in our outpatient department.Maintains required documentation and professional relationships with patients, families and staff.Low patient to therapist ratio; 1-2 patients/hour. Adheres to MMC/department policies and procedures and JCAHO/regulatory agency requirements.Demonstrates and promotes service excellence at all times.

Responsibilities include:

Administers Physical Therapy treatments per MD referral and in accordance with NYS practice act

Performs comprehensive evaluations

Develops appropriate treatment plans with realistic, functional goals

Observes patients' response to treatment physically and psychologically and adjusts the treatment plan accordingly

Educates nursing and other hospital staff regarding posture, body mechanics and transfer techniques as needed

Qualifications include:

BS, MS or DPT degree in Physical Therapy from accredited PT programrequired

Previous outpatient experience preferred but not required.

Current NYS license required

BLS required
