Job Description

To be fully engaged in providing Quality/No Harm, Customer Experience, and Stewardship by pro-actively promoting the strategic HFHP Data Integration Operations plan. The primary objective of the Sr. Data Analyst is inspect, scrub, transform, and modeling data with the goal of discovering useful information, suggesting conclusions, and developing data process controls to support daily operations.

The Sr. Data Analyst will work to define and maintain robust, scalable data migrations and integrations that meet the business goals of the organization. The Sr. Data Analyst will lead technical requirements, data analysis and design activities, focusing on migration and integration. The role is to perform a range of functions with respect to information collection and presentation, including responding to requests for reports, analysis, proactively providing relevant data and information in support of corporate projects.

Primary Accountabilities

* Oversees daily efficient operations and assures accountability to all regulatory entities as well as pertinent policies and procedures

* Responsible for improving data quality and for designing or presenting conclusions gained from analyzing data using statistical tools like Microsoft Excel, SQL, and others.

* Filter and "clean" data, and review computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct operational data problems.

* Locate and define new process improvement opportunities and develop operational data process controls.

* Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports.

* Exhibit clear, sound and accurate judgment in making decisions. Display willingness to make decisions in a timely manner, include appropriate people in decision-making process, and be able to explain reasoning for supported decisions of the team.

* Supports project teams in technical data requirements gathering, requirements analysis, and data analysis.

* Works with application developers and project managers to identify the business and operational data requirements.

* Identifies, analyzes, and makes recommendations for alternative methods to the operational processes, utilizing process knowledge to integrate, and transfer new or existing technology into the work place, so key outcomes are met and departmental processes maximized.

* Provide operational monitoring of data file transfers and trouble shoot production incidents.

* Develop and implement data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and operational data quality.


§ BS in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, Business, or Statistics

§ 2 years as a Data Analyst, Business Analyst, or similar type role.

§ Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and data segmentation techniques.

§ Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical tools for analyzing large datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc).

§ Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting, data extract, data transformation, and data load tools (Business Objects etc), databases (SQL etc), programming (XML, Javascript, or ETL frameworks).

§ Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.

§ Adept at queries, report writing and present findings.

§ Effective communication skills, written and verbal, proven with both business and technical stakeholders.

§ Demonstrates leadership ability

§ Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

§ Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.

§ Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

§ Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
