Supervisor, Inventory / Receiving

FFR Merchandising Rockford, IL


This position is responsible for the planning and execution of SI receiving/inventory daily functions. Maintain daily metrics, and daily goals to be met.


* Oversees all receiving/inventory personnel and daily receiving functions ,and inventory transactions

* Responsible for monitoring inbound container tracking, and cycle count accuracy relating to inventory

* Developing and maintaining department work instructions for all tasks.

* Recommending measures to improve quality of service, increasing efficiency, and eliminating waste.

* Communicate with all other departments throughout SI.

* Oversee daily / weekly workload.

* Oversees personnel maintenance of forklifts.


* Cross-trained and able to perform all duties in Distribution

* Spreadsheets on daily inbound container

* Performs other related duties as assigned.


* Monthly Distribution goals.

* Inbound container turnaround

* Cycle count accuracy

* Cost reduction.

* Compliance with company policies (i.e. Safety, Attendance)


Oversees and directs the daily activities of the receiving/inventory department

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (R) = Required; (P) = Preferred (Equivalent combinations will be considered)

(R) High School Diploma/GED.

(P) Bachelors Degree in a related field.

(R) Computer knowledge Microsoft Office, including excel and power point.

(R) 3 - 5 years of Supervisory/Shipping experience in a warehouse/distribution environment.

(P) Well organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.

(P) Experience with the operation of a forklift.

(P) Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

(P) Ability to work well, direct and communicate effectively with others.

SKILLS (Language, Mathematical, Reasoning)

Language: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other associates of the organization.

Mathematical: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
