About the Position:

First Army mobilizes, trains, validates, and deploys Reserve Component (RC) units in accordance with Combatant Commander, Department of the Army, and FORSCOM directives. As directed, provides training to Joint, Combined, and Active Army Forces.

Responsibilities

* As a Program Manager (Operations), you will be responsible for the following:

* Serve as a senior authority on overall First Army operations, to include; stationing, requirements, mission, and resourcing of the Reserve Components and assigned personnel throughout First Army?s area of operations

* Maintain broad continuing subject matter knowledge for application to situations, issues, and overarching matters, programs, and policies that impact First Army Headquarters

* Coordinate and meet with senior leadership in execution of the National Command Strategy and the mobilization and demobilization of ground forces

* Perform overall strategic planning, enterprise management, and coordination for the organization

* Serve as the chief advisor and consultant to the Commanding General (CG) for all issues and matters relating to mobilization and readiness of the Army's Reserve Component

* Exercise a full range of supervisory and personnel management responsibilities

To be qualified based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled such as Analyzing contingency operations in accordance with policies and objectives to maintain continuity of operations and effective mobilization; Developing plans involving training, mobilization, deployment or de-mobilization of reserve component forces; Experience preparing and delivering military briefings to high level officials; Developing mission essential task lists to ensure operational requirements are met; Supervising personnel in an operations center.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-14).
